Since Obama's victory freepers/wingnuts/racists have made statements and acted as such to give one cause for concern. Many here thought DUer's would leave the site in droves because we finally won the White House. What I'm saying is, the reaction from the Radical Right gives many of us reason to continue fighting the good fight.

And before you accuse me of being one of those "freepers/wingnuts/racists" please consider that all I was asking for was a little clarification; I was not making an argument or launching an attack on your position.

Instead of clarification, what I got instead was a morning lashing of abuse. I was asking you because you posted the statement, not as an attack. Clearly, your world has become so 'my way or the highway' that you can't be bothered to try answering the question.

I've been around DU for quite a while now, and don't intend to leave it - but honestly if I were considering it, it would be because of DUer's who regularly treat others with utter contempt and disdain simply because those others don't grasp the often convoluted, obtuse, and (apparently) coded posts they make.

There are thoughtful ways of expressing your concerns; hyperbole and nastiness do nothing to advance rational discussion. If someone can't even ask you for clarification - and your response clarified nothing except your conviction that if I don't accept your assessment on its face then I'm either crazy or deluded (based on your smiley choice) - then you narrow your audience considerably. I suppose that's fine with you as it saves you from having to be thoughtful . . . or even just polite.
