4. Yes. And the "family-values pseudo-Xians" can learn to like it or can make themselves very unhappy
about it. Their choice.

Two of my friends have been a family emotionally for a long time and I will celebrate with them the day the law recognizes them as family also.

What I'd love to see is a SCOTUS decision that would apply to all 50 states. Then, they could take their "victory" and put it where the sun don't shine.

BTW, if you donate to www.invalidateprop8.org, they send a note to the head of the Mormon church thate you've donated in his name. Do it. It feels so good. :)

9. Even with all the money they spent, it BARELY passed
The tide has turned as far as public opinion goes. People's minds are opening.

3. These religious organizations have gone too far. There will be a backlash.
This issue is much simpler than abortion. Giving equal rights to gay people doesn't hurt anyone or anything. It's a no-brainer. No reasonable person could be opposed. It's an issue of human rights.

8. the last holdouts of extreme homophobia
again, mob rule. just as it was with inter racial marriage. It took the SC to override mob rule. There were still majorities of people against inter racial marriage, even after it was deemed legal.
Now, a majority supports inter racial marriage. Gay marriage will be legal in my lifetime in all 50 states. Thats my prediction today.

6. Thiswhole mess _might_ turn out to be a good thing if
a) Those bans are overturned
b) Churches get spanked so much they will reconsider crossing the line of separation between church and state.

7. Oh how I would love to see them lose their tax-exempt status
They want to get political and mobilize for a ballot proposal? Then they're a political organization.

The demonstrations are great but I don't know if it'll change the minds of Mormons or Catholics. But it might change the minds of whoever decides when a church has stepped over that line and shouldn't be tax exempt anymore. Which would be a HUGE blow to them.

10. Not changing their minds is a foregone conclusion.
It took the catholic church almost 300 years to admit that they were wrong about Galileo.

12. Violence never solves anything. Understanding can solve, though.
It is the same thing that they do with the terrorists. They just denounce them without trying to understand how they became to be "terroristic". You must try to understand the hate, unfortunately you will get called unpatriotic when you do so. And if you try to understand and/or explain the hatred against gays, you get called homophobic. Violence or bawl-babying will just deepen the hatred.

14. Maybe his "sorry black people you haven't won this yet" thread
got locked? Or maybe he only thinks SOME groups are entirely homogeneous.

Maybe some people should think about NOT being associated with a bigoted bunch of rights stomping jerks...
