can gay marriage keep going back-and-forth in california? |
|
Prop 8 wins, and the constitution is amended to ban gay marriage...BUT- a lot of people are talking about having a ballot proposition next time to reverse this one... So- if it's reversed, the bigots will surely work to reverse that reversal...will it EVER be settled law? And- since i haven't heard, what happens to the marriages of those same-sex couples that occurred during the time it was legal?

right now on a 14th Amendment basis.
Let's hope they have the political fortitude to do so.

2. i've heard that that is fairly unlikely- |

the chief justice, who wrote the 4-3 decision making it legal is supposedly a moderate repug who is a BIG fan of ballot propositions and upholding the will of the voters.
