That's been happening for years.

Obama will have to learn to avoid anything except bad news on Fridays. Otherwise, the markets may come to believe he's jinxed.

8. GM lost billions again. Retail numbers were awful. Jobs went down again.

9. Yeah, but it's rebounding.
I remember, however, watching the Dow the day one company (forgot which) laid off thousands of people.

It jumped quite a bit.

So, I don't take any one-day movement of the Dow to mean a damn thing. Plus, it seems the Dow doesn't care whether people work or not.
