Joementum is a good dem
I hope we can keep him with us in the Senate.

I am a Kucinich kind of guy. I see the Democrats as just a little less in the pocket of corporations then the Republicans are.

Joementum is with us on our social issues, as much as the Dem party is with us.
As far as national security - The dems were pretty much lock step with the GOP on every national security issue. Is there any difference between Hillary Clinton and Joementum on specific national security issues?

I've always been a fan of Joementum. He and I disagree on the Iraq war (I think it was a tactical error, he thinks it was a good move). Pretty much we kinda agree on everything else (*not really - I kinda agree with Nader more then the DLC, but for the most part I, and Joementum, stand with the dems).

Joementum is pretty much an old school dem. If we get rid of him we should really be getting rid of a lot of the other dead weight that has been triangulating our party for far too long.

Joe ain't so far off from the lame as corporate base of the democratic party. He should be allowed to stay or we should change.

5. I would prefer he stood with us
Perhaps it is cause I am from NY -
I saw many hardline dems, some conservative dems,
that voted McCain over Obama...
They were big HRC supporters that didn't want a kid running the show.
I understand where they were coming from.
I disagree with them, but I understood that they were voting for what they thought was best for the country.

People shouldn't be punished for that, imho.

11. I think we would all prefer it if he had, but the fact remains: He did not.
He cast his lot with McSame. Actions have consequences. IMO, he must be punished. There is no way he should be allowed to caucus with actual Democrats, much less be allowed to keep his committee chairs.

4. Joe LIEberman was waiting on the same line as McSame...He could not wait to sell
his soul to the devil in hopes of personal gain.
I see no reason the Dems should even have a conversation with him.
I cannot wait for him to be voted out.

6. Wasn't his appearance at the Rep national convention an endorsement of their entire platform?
In supporting John McCain and in encouraging people to vote for him, wasn't Joe Lieberman supporting each and every part of the Republican agenda? If not, well Joe didn't tell a national TV audience about the areas in which he differed with the Republicans. His was a blanket endorsement of the Republican agenda. Like others have stated, Lieberman could have stayed at home and merely endorsed McCain's policies with which he agreed, such as the Iraq war. But Lieberman tried to encourage Democrats to desert Obama and vote for a party that doesn't value those social issues that you claim Lieberman supports.

8. Gee, I really hate to bring up ancient history
but one time there was this presidential campaign, which was generally regarded as being one of the most pivotal in the entire existence of the U.S., and this Lieberman fellow actually joined up with the Republicans in an effort to defeat the Democratic candidate.

It's true! You can look it up and everything!

Edited on Fri Nov-07-08 03:31 PM by NNN0LHI
Bet you can't find one.

He just voted with us to act liberal when his vote was meaningless and to build up his BS liberal voting record. Whenever his vote actually counted for anything he always voted with the Repigs.

Joe is a Republican. Always has been.

18. Some humorous quotes from Daily Kos
In discussing Lieberman's "value" to the Democratic caucus:

Of course, that turned out not to be true. Didn't it? It turned out that he was with us on everything but... everything.

Joe Lieberman endorsed and campaigned for John McCain and Sarah Palin for president and vice president.

"Everything but the war?" Really?

Does anyone recall what it was we heard from our strategists every time Hill Democrats backed off, compromised, or otherwise were forced to eat shit during the 110th Congress, even though we held the majority?

Didn't we have to continue to fund the war they were elected to end, so that we could keep a viable shot at the White House in 2008?

Didn't we have to end a 30 year moratorium on offshore drilling, even though we knew it could not only not directly solve the immediate problem of high gas prices, but would only incentivize the continuation of our ass-backward energy "policies," so that we could keep a viable shot at the White House in 2008?

Didn't we have to agree to go along with the ridiculous retroactive immunity plan for the telecom giants who sold us out to the government and allowed the Bush/Cheney "administration" to conduct unchecked, warrantless domestic surveillance (that ultimately resulted in NSA technicians swapping recordings of hot phone sex chats between American soldiers, diplomats and business people and their spouses at home), so that we could keep a viable shot at the White House in 2008?

And didn't we have to plod through two years worth of oversight over a panoply of some of the most egregious violations of law and civil liberties in recent memory, step by torturous step, always reining ourselves in from doing what we all knew was really warranted, so that we could keep a viable shot at the White House in 2008?

Why, yes we did.

And Joe Lieberman worked his hardest to deny us that shot at the White House in 2008. He actually worked for the other side.

That's not "with us on everything but the war." That's against us on everything there is. The whole enchilada.

"Elections have consequences," as they say. Joe Lieberman bet it all on the wrong horse, and there should be no margin for that.

What was it you were saying?

And his unrepetent cheerleading for this war, along with his campaigning for a Republican presidential nominee, is simply unforgivable. The republicans can have him.

Republicans. Obama got voted in because people trust that he will be different from Republicans even though we have been told that he wants to break down some of the division.

There are a lot of things we may have to get used to - but the act and the actions that Joe Lieberman has flaunted in our faces is unforgiveable.

In addition, Joe has ONE agenda - war to benefit Israel that involves our kids lives, minds, and bodies. His second agenday is corporation gifts and kick backs.

I remember looking at a list of Congress people who received the highest amount of dollar kick-back fron CANF through NED.

CANF - Cuban-American National Foundation - these are the people responsible for writing the legislation for all the favorable laws for Cubans - immigrants and other - way out of proproation to any other group of people in this countries history. They are behind the profits related to Radio Marti.

NED - these are the people who are involved in the circle of pay-offs.

Lieberman is on the NED Board - or was.

Lieberman was at the top of the list for receiving money.

This was our money. Certain Congress people wrote the budgets and plenty went to NED that went to CANF including some that went to the pockets of Congresspeople. A near circle of money movement or laundering that went from us to their pockets.

HE MADE HIS CHOICE. It's a no-brainer.

I don't have tolerance for deceivers in his position.

There are some other Democrats who are in good standing and shouldn't be - those who always voted with Bush during the last eight years or the years related to their entry to COngress - Landrieau, one or both of the Nelsons - and more. They don't have Cheney-Bush to give their vote to, but they could still vote against Dems and Joe certainly will vote against Dems. Why should he change? And if he changes - what sort of a person is he?

NO NO NO. NO JOE.

30. "He is pro war"
I would like to ask you -
Who is not pro-war? I know the 2008 dem platform called Iraq a stateic blunder... Why? What made it a blunder?
Let me put it to you this way - If Iraq was a success - if there was now a pro-west, unified, stable democracy ruling Iraq, would the war have been a blunder?

To me Joe and the dems were all hawky back when the war was popular. The dems became dovey when the war went bad.

27. IMO- He's has some issues that have caused him to act out. The 2000 election that was stolen.
Let's not forget that the election was stolen away from him along with Gore. It caused Gore a lot of depression and soul searching - but in the long run - he was a strong person who had character and it made him rise up and do great things.

Lieberman - it did the opposite. It turned him into a bitter man - who allowed himself to be whored out to the victimizers (the Republicans who stole the election from him). People sometimes do strange things....
