2. Was up all day;
don't know what might have changed after press conference, but not much time for that.

I was hoping for such a signal, too; may have to wait until Monday.

5. I think the market liked the fact that the UK central bank lowered interest rates 150 basis points
As great a President as Obama is going to be, the market is reacting to other things, just as it reacted to other things yestersday, and the day before, and the day before that.

9. 4q 2009?
I really don't know. I just can't wait until we can talk about positive earnings, dividends, and growth again. I hope we can start looking at stocks as a store of value and investment in our economy instead of as a casino. At least we will have some adults running the place now instead of the inmates running the asylum.

11. Whoa, that is my guess too. Three very rough quarters in 2009, then some
relief.

Exactly.

Glad somebody else is thinking the same thing.

8. Friday
Isn't it typical of the market to rally on a friday of a week when it is down?

It still was down for the week. But at this point I don't think it has anything to do with the president. I certainly don't think it would have been any better if the election on Tuesday had gone the other way.
