5. I wish I could say that I'd never met anybody like this

but I know lots of "liberals" (or people who consider themselves liberal anyway) who vote Dem and for liberal issues EXCEPT two - gay rights and abortion. On those two issues, they revert to whatever their churches tell them. Unless the abortion bill goes too far - like doesn't make an exemption for health of the mother or something. I have no idea what they would consider "going too far" on an anti-gay rights bill. I shudder to think. :(
