McConnell has long been the subject of the Larry Flynt rumors. If only they were true, or 'out'...

He can have him, but Harry better put him on the National Sewer Maintainance subcommittee |
|
As the ranking minority member.
Take away every meaningful committee assignment he ever thougt of and let his ass hang out in the breeze.

14. I can't stand Joe, and just wish he would go away, |
|
that said just a little word advice for Joe, those that change sides are never truly welcomed by those that they change to. They may want you for your vote, but you will never be fully accepted into their embrace. Just think of Benedict Arnold, he was given a command by the British, but he was never really one of them.

19. Depends on the final count: having Lieberman could give us one more seat on all Committees |
|
What people are not focusing on is that the allocation of seats on Senate Committees is based on the proportion of seats held by the two parties. In other words, in a 51/49 Senate, most Committees have a one-member Democratic majority. As the size of the Democratic majority in the senate increases, so does the size of the Democratic majority on each committee. So by keepin joe in the caucus, it could mean one more seat on most if not every committee, depending on the final numbers.
From that standpoint, I tend to want Joe to stay a part of the Democratic caucus, even though I'm adamantly against giving him a committee chairmanship (or any chairmanship of any consequence).

22. He won't stay without a chairmanship or other desired positions. |
|
Joe is still blackmailing the Democrats, if he stays he stays on his conditions. What good is it to keep him if we have to sell our souls to do so.
Let him go, and deal with the situation that arises.

23. as I said, I wouldn't give him anything of consequence to keep him |
|
but I might give him something. He's not getting a committee chair if he bolts to the repubs either, so even a crappy piece of power might be enough to call his bluff and, if so, the entire party benefits.
