All Because of Paranio Spurred on by NRA Propaganda
so once again, they help sell guns and gun manufacturers love when guns get sold.

30. The Buying Spree Will Do Wonders for the Gun Manufacturers' Bottom Lines!
The NRA is giving their real constituancy, the gun manufacturers a nice Christmas present by scaring their members into a gun-buying spree.

2. I'm in the middle of a debate with a fundy gun owner right now
on another board. She is just batshit insane  She wants to run out right now to buy an AK47, so that she can put 15 holes in the chest of any intruder that dares break in to her house (she lives in So. Iowa, btw ). Some people are just scary sad.

12. I don't even lock my front door.
In fact, I spent two weeks down in California a few months back, and left my front door unlocked the whole time I was gone.

What makes people feel so insecure, I wonder?

Crafty little bastid, she is.

I grew up in CT where my dad's idea of 'locking up' was to throw the little, teeny, tiny metal pin on the screen doors. Seriously. I don't think they even knew HOW to lock the windows.

23. The person with whom you are conversing is decidedly irrational.
An AK-47 style firearm is unsuitable for typical home defense situations. A shotgun is a far superior tool for home defense, while a rifle is more suited for outdoor combat where targets are at a significant range -- this typically does not occur in any home defense scenario.

The Saiga 12 is a shotgun based upon the AK-47 action and thus it inherits the AK-47's reliability. It would not, however, be accurate to refer to a Saiga 12 as an "AK-47" or even an "AK-47" semi-automatic clone.

It's the need to own an assault weapon for the sole purpose of shooting an intruder.

16. Since it was in his platform, maybe they have a reason to fear such a thing?
Address Gun Violence in Cities: As president, Barack Obama would repeal the Tiahrt Amendment, which restricts the ability of local law enforcement to access important gun trace information, and give police officers across the nation the tools they need to solve gun crimes and fight the illegal arms trade. Obama and Biden also favor commonsense measures that respect the Second Amendment rights of gun owners, while keeping guns away from children and from criminals who shouldn't have them. They support closing the gun show loophole and making guns in this country childproof. They also support making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent, as such weapons belong on foreign battlefields and not on our streets.

Could see some confusion there, no?

being bought up strictly for "self-defense". In that case buying semi rifles could seem a bit..."crazy", as there might be better choices. I guess it depends on what they were protecting themselves from?

15. Me, I'd love to have Obama come to my door and ask for my gun.
I'd invite him in for pie and take lots of pictures. And if he really-really thinks me giving him my gun will serve a higher and noble purpose for the country we're privileged to have him lead, I would of course give it to him. AFTER he's finished his pie. Might just set up a target in the back yard so he can do some practice with the BB gun I just gave him!

Oh, geez, can these people BE any more ridiculous??

I would request a rational justification of such a "higher and noble purpose" before I would consider relinquishing any firearms to any individuals. Even if I were to make such a consideration, I do not believe that a decision in favour of the individual requesting my possessions would be likely.

That I was trying to be funny. Guess I'll give up my attempts at humor. The "Beware Obama's Coming for Your Guns" idiocy coming out of the likes of Hannity, Savage, Lars Larson seemed so over the top I thought a satirical response might be in order.

Like I said...no more humor on topics on like this from me. Guess I will with sadness go back to my previous sig line:

36. It is not matter of them being taken away (hopefully). The last AWB
grandfathered in those existing, but no new ones could be made or purchased. SO buying them now is smart, ASSUMING the next possible ban goes the same way. The problem with that is the most recent AWB proposals made the elusive definition even stricter, and included more specific weapons by name and design. Other versions include either registration or surrendering them, and very limited transfers afterwards.

42. My dad has a bunch of guns that we brought back home.
From my deceased uncle's house. He's not a registered gun user nor are any of the guns registered I dont think. I'm signing up for a gun training course since he'll let me a few handguns, I can get a permit and then look into registering the few guns I want.

Some of you might worry about him having many unregistered guns, but I assure you, he doesn't even mess with them, excet for one he's got loaded in case someone does break into the house, he's not a paranoid guy though even at near 72 years old.

45. Thats true, most are not registered.
Yet most the gun control laws are doing nothing but further ristricting the legal gun owners, and homicides are rarely ever done by legal gun owners. Personally, I think most gun deaths are caused by drug dealers and those little gansters running around on the streets. They always make it on the news papers, while the rednecks out where I live whom arent registered gun owners either dont do anything with them but target practice and hunt.

49. Last time they got grandfathered in - could keep and buy and sell existing ones,
just no new ones.

Smart to get 'em now in that case, not so smart if they force registration or severely limited transfer.
