Who's on First? ..... or second .... or third ...... |
|
There was just a more or less throwaway tidbit on Maddow's show, in a conversation with O'Donnell.
Who is in charge of the Repubican party these days?
Really.
Who?
McCain? .... not hardly.
Bush? .... he couldn't score upper deck, center field, obstructed view seats at the fucking convention.
Cheney? ... nope. He's actually on the beach with Bernie. It will be in the papers next month.
Palin? .... maybe. She has as good a chance as the others.
Boner? ... as long as he has tissues, he's cool.
Ratface Mitch?
Seriously .... who might be in charge?

2. Thom Hartman had an answer to this question today. |
|
Thom had a soliloquy about why he thought Palin was being demonized by the Republicans, and he said he thinks he could be wrong, but doubts it. He said all the pundits speculating were missing the point which is that Mitt Romney is going to be the candidate in 2012. He said that Mitt can write a 40 million dollar check from his pers account, that he is being groomed behind the scenes, that he cuts a nice figure, and in the absence of any (other, white, acceptable, non-doughy old rich guys available) he is what they have. So the only other one possibility is Palin, and they have to demonize her and get out of the field RIGHT now. The throwing her under the bus is Rovian and calculated.
I'm only paraphrasing what I understood him to say. But it made better sense to me than any of the Media speculation I heard later.

3. I also have speculated that the tire marks on her back are a concerted effort by some ..... |
|
... faction or another to completely destroy her before she gains any more traction. They recognize her as poison to their party.
If they run Mitt (I hadn't gotten that far in my speculations), I think they'll underestimate his "Ick" factor. He is as shallow and phony as a cardboard cutout and that will be a huge problem for them.
