Had some friends over the night before last. Mrs. av8rdave mentioned some tins of mints I keep out in the cockpit for the crew to help themselves to. There's a tin of National Embarrassmints, Impeachmints, and Indictmints ("eat them with conviction"), all with caricatures of Bush and his junta on them. She mentioned that come January, I'll have to do away with them and come up with something else.

One of the other wives immediately suggested I get watermelon mints. I asked her how she came up with that. "You know, Obama, his color..."

I kid you not! Before changing the subject, I did mention that there is a difference between making fun of someone's incompetence/criminal behavior and making fun of someone for something totally stupid like race - particularly with a sick, overused stereotype.

The world has a lot of idiots in it.
