4. As a gay man I'm asking all straight people to get involved in this civil rights struggle.
I'm also asking all African American Californians to examine what a majority - 70% - of them

did to their gay brothers and sisters at the polls on November 4. It is my firm opinion that most

of them voted from a position of homophobia coming mainly from their church backgrounds.

Most black churches are very negative on gays and yet the "down low" members in those churches

continue to exist without any church involvement. And even President-elect Barack Obama had to speak to

some congregations and tell them that they had to change their attitude about gays. But,it's a religious thing

stemming from the Bible and the white man's condemnation of gays. And much of this comes from

the inability of the gay community to propagate itself. We usually don't have children of our own to

contribute to the body of society. So like the ancient Jews believed we are an "abomination" because

we don't fit into the correct mold.

And that goes big time for the Mormon Church which has an extremely negative attitude toward gays and the word

"abomination" is part of their language when talking about gays. And so it is no surprise that the

Mormon's would put millions of dollars against the gay community in this marriage effort. They don't want us to

enjoy any of the civil rights that most couples in America enjoy. And particularly when it comes to "marriage".

It's off limits and off the table as far as many religious types go. So let's keep looking at the churches

in this country (especially the Mormons) as your Website encourages. And let's ALL get involved.
