Anyone listen to Sirius Left Radio?
I don't listen often, but when I do its during my work hours. I always happen to stumble on the Lynn Samuels Show.

Is it me or is she absolutely insane?

1. It's a hideous trick on citizens who bought Sirius specifically to be able to hear political talk
Edited on Sat Nov-08-08 03:46 PM by Judi Lynn
which wasn't also HATE RADIO.

As you remember, they had Air America, and Talk Left. After Air America was cancelled, I had to listen to Talk Left for the first time and went into shock when I realized what Lynn Samuels was doing, and then Alex Bennett.

They do NOT belong on "Talk Left." They are hate-filled idiots. They both discuss movies, tv programs, their health, Lynn discusses shopping, popular singers, Bennett discusses his sex life, has discussed where he rates people like Laura Bush and Hillary Clinton as people he'd like or dislike screwing, as if anyone could give a ####, and they both have been reviling, slurring African Americans like all the prominent black leaders, for years.

What on earth does this have to do with the promised progressive discussions Talk Left's very NAME implies?

I think she's a burned out old alcoholic who used to be a younger skank. That's the only thing which explains the way her mind works to me.

2. Thank you
I thought I was the only one. I understand if some Dems have a particular beef with Obama and such, but she thinks he's a lying hack. For a second there I thought I was listening to Fox Radio or Patriot Radio.
That was the conversation from today, and I think 5 of the 6 callers I heard disagreed with everything she was saying. One guy even went on about starting a petition to get her off the radio.

What a nutcase!!

3. She's one of those embarassments to our side...
left over from the 60s

I remember her when she was only slightly more lucid and a mainstay on WBAI, NY's Pacifica station. Then she eventually managed to get a spot on WABC as the "liberal" answer to Limbaugh.

How she's managed to stay on the air anywhere for 40 years amazes me.

5. She wasn't on the air Friday, you are listening to a repeat
Lately she's been getting major flack from her callers for not supporting, even smearing Barack Obama. I've sent letters to management and investor relations stating my displeasure. Richard Bey stepped in to sub her show Friday and actually did a great job.

7. Here's how bad she got
I didn't hear her on Election Day, but apparently she was really nasty. So, after they finished their election night coverage, they simply ran repeats of Obama's Grant Park Speech until the Bill Press Show came on at 5.

9. Glad to hear this. They should run repeats of Thom Hartmann or Stephanie Miller
during all that time they allow for Lynn Samuels.

They could give her day slot to repeats of Mike Malloy, for people who don't have evenings free to hear him.

So many ways that time could be put to good use for the benefit of Sirius' PAYING CUSTOMERS.

13. Steph used to be run in the Malloy slot
& the 2 a.m-5a.m slot as well. When Sirius picked up Malloy, they dropped Steph completely.

11. On Sirius left, Thom is only on from noon to 1pm.
Then the dingbat comes on for two hours.

My husband's theory is that they can get Lynn cheaper than Thom Hartman or any other good lefty.
He may be right.

I have called and sent emails to Sirius numerous times and sent emails to Lynn Samuels herself.
She responds like a spoiled five year old. Try it sometime. She's a nut.

8. Someone here at D.U., when Samuel's name came up another time, said he/she had contacted her
to voice opposition to her unbearable raving, and got a furious response, followed by MORE e-mails to the point it was starting to seem like stalking.

This seems very much like the utterly unhinged, dissipated, uninformed, indifferent, malignant person I stopped listening to within a few weeks after I discovered her. God knows I tried to continue, as she was the ONLY progressive I could hear at that time of the day, but the wear and tear on the spirit, mind is unacceptable.

10. I loathe Lynne Samuels' show. Worst left radio show EVER!
Sirius has 'Hard Attack' and some other awesome music channels, but their Left programming sucks ass. XM has the lamest flaccid music ever, BUT they have (had? it's been a while...) Air America.....

12. Gramma Pottymouth...
I don't even bother... I'd like to be able to listen to Thom Hartmann's full show in the daytime and Stephanie Miller live. Mark Thompson is OK. Far and away though my favorite is Mike Malloy. Just wish he was satellite only so he could really cut loose... :wow:

15. If Mike could really cut loose
his head would explode. Sometimes he gets so mad, I'm scared he's going to have a heart attack on air. :scared:

we're all in agreement, which begs the question.....how does she have this show and who's listening to it?

17. I moved to XM
Air America signed an exclusive deal with XM.

Since then Randi Rhodes left, but she is still on XM along with Mike Malloy.

Rachel remains, and Thom Hartmann is delayed.

The cut Lionel and added Stephanie Miller

Add Ed Schulze and it is not a bad lineup.
