The Georgia Senate Run Off and How it Impacts Obama's Presidency
Edited on Sat Nov-08-08 04:17 PM by CitizenPatriot
No matter which senator goes for a switch, the Democratic Party does not achieve 60 without Martin winning, and the incumbent has a major war-chest to utilize. A source told the Huffington Post's Sam Stein that Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee all are likely to campaign to bring Saxby back.
.....

Martin himself writes:

"Saxby Chambliss has promised to do everything he can to stop Barack Obama from succeeding. We face the biggest challenges of the past 60 years - let's work together to solve them. In the Senate I'll do what's best for Georgia, what's best for this country, and what's best for the middle class who've been ignored the past eight years."

Politico posted, "John McCain will be campaigning for Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.) in the all-but-assured runoff against Democrat Jim Martin next month, according to Chambliss' campaign." .

So if you woke up this morning tired of not donating to grass roots campaigns, here's a link to the most important one left in the ground game:

UPDATE: This is posted on the Palmetto Scoop so take it for what you will, but they're running with it: "We're setting up our entire field team again," said one emboldened Obama staffer in Ohio. "I'm coming to Georgia and bringing several hundred of my friends with me."

For those who have been paying attention, you know we have had some funny business with the election results here in GA. Please donate a few dollars to Jim Martin, 5, 10, whatever you can afford. If you go to the HuffPo site via the link above, you can see the horrible ads Chambliss is running against Martin. Chambliss has vowed to do everything he can to stop Obama from getting his agenda done. We need to reactive our energy and passion once again, to say ENOUGH. Enough of liars and anti-American accusations. ENOUGH.

6. um, wouldn't that be a novel idea?
I'm not sure what in the HELL is going on with the SOS Karen Handel. We were promised paper ballots, but Diebold had the GOP's back here again and the tabulation of the votes is extremely suspect. Did they lose a bunch of votes? Why aren't they counting the early votes?

I have NO answers, in spite of talking with lawyers, etc who worked closely with the board of elections.

All I know is we are gearing up to be flooded by Pukes here. First Mccain and Palin and now Romney et al. They are pulling out the heavy hitters (or morans, depending on how you look at it).

How will we GET people back to the polls? I'm honestly just not seeing it.

money and staff arent' being poured
into Georgia by Obama and the DNC.

4. If I was Martin's campaign manager
I'd start the rerun by reminding all of Georgia what Rove and Chambliss did to Max Cleland.

5. all of the obama volunteers
(myself included) are re-mobilizing to help Martin. I am not sure how the money situation works, but I doubt Obama can put money into Martin's coffer's directly from his campaign. the DNC is another matter.

Obama people are coming here from all over to help out! Thank you to all of the supporters who are re-mobilizing:-)

Now we just need money to run ads, etc.

I love the idea of using an ad like the upthread poster suggested this is the guy who did this to Max Cleland. In fact, I think I'll ask one of my editor friends to put a montage together like that if he can. At least we can YouTube it.

Thanks for the kicks, everyone. I know these kinds of threads aren't the "interesting" ones, but it is important, esp as it pertains to how well Obama and our Dems can function and deliver the agendas they have in mind.

Weren't both of those ads horrific? 911 footage, REALLY????? What a jerk.

if anyone knows how to post a video on the video page, I'd love to see one of Chambliss' ads up there. That might generate some money for Martin.

8. thanks for the k & rs!
And here I thought the election was over...It's an odd feeling to be re-gearing up for another fight. This one may be pretty vicious -- I am afraid Saxby Shameless is the "conservative" wet dream of many of the older crowd here -- the ones who will have the time to go out and vote again.

Please, prove me wrong!
