4. I understand that people are hurt, yes they deserve to be
but sitting behind their computer preaching to the choir will not get anything done..

I agree, I left Wednesday to love/peace/happy dances....come back to what looks like WWIII

7. So you would'nt come here to perhaps vent, and you couldn't see yourself
perhaps lashing out if one of your fundamental rights as a human being was stripped away from you by a majority of your fellow citizens? Really?

And just because some folks are doing one thing here (preaching to the choir as you say), it doesn't automatically preclude the fact that they may be doing more productive things elsewhere.

8. what good is sitting here venting on a computer doing ???
Is it helping the folks who had their rights stripped away? I am just amazed at how the vibe of this place has changed. The folks who are here arguing with each other, what good is it doing? I am talking about these folks doing more productive things in ref to the issues they are so passionate about, arguing on a message board isn't positive and isn't getting things done, get out and write letters, take it to the streets, I thought we were united.

9. You're assuming that venting here is the only thing they're doing
It is entirely possible to do more than one thing at a time, and there is nothing wrong with needing to blow off some steam while also doing those other things.

10. blowing off steam is o.k., I have no problem with that....
It is my hope they are also doing more positive, significant things to help their cause besides venting here.

The OP stated that she went away for a few days, then returned to a completely different place, and I am agreeing with her, the posters have vented, argued, yelled, screamed, cried....now take the same fervor and passion and put it in action.

11. I guess you weren't here when folks were venting over stolen elections
I was here in lurker mode. This is downright mild by comparison.

12. I wasn't here during that era
If this is mild, I cannot imagine what was said/argued/vented during that time....

The opinions in some of these arguments are quite heated, and I guess that degree of passion can be a good thing, it's the stuff that can set the wheels of change in motion.

6. Many posts like this today .....
I can honestly say that DU is no different, week to week and month to month, than it always is ....

DU members have posted 'sad' things since DU opened .... I dont put much stock in it ....

It will be something else next week ....

And you know what ? .... Someone will come in and say :"HEY ! ... What happened to DU ?"

Ad infinitum ...
