Why not a grassroots movement for a federal US constitutional amendment? |
|
while we have control of Congress -
Something along the lines of:
"Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of gender or sexual orientation."
Use the language of the ERA, which was simple and easy to understand.
Kill two long overdue birds with one stone.
If enough of us push for this, I can see it being introduced.
It seems we're always fighting AGAINST bad constitutional amendments. Why not be proactive and push for a constructive and good one?

1. I like it. It wouldn't pass but it would be a smart move. |

2. Not to disagree, as I think it's important, but shouldn't we get |
|
a grassroots movement to ratify the constitution first?
What, you mean it passed?
WTF!?? Did anyone tell Bush/Cheney?
