Mommy if Obama is our new president ... why are some people so mad?
This is what my 6 year old said.. "Mommy if Obama is our new president ... why are some people so mad? I thought you said he was a good guy"

wow its amazing what children can pick up isn't it?
I had to go into the whole just because we believe he is a good guy doesn't mean that everyone is happy or believes the same thing" talk just thought I would post my lastest in what my 6 year old said about this election.. since he seems to be on top of things about this election ;)

1. Because he's a Democrat, dear.
And because some children never learned how to share when they were six.

5. Honey, people are crazy.
The sooner you learn that the sooner you don't waste your time ascribing sanity to crazy people.

(My oldest daughter (13 at the time) went canvassing with me during the primary. We talked to a woman who said she didn't vote. I said, "You are registered" and she said yes, but she didn't believe women should vote. That they should tell their husbands what they think and it's up to the husbands to make the decision.

When we left that door, my 13 year old looks at me and says, "That woman creeped me out!"

7. Your daughters "gut instincts" are working well
My Lord. I guess it is good that she saw and heard that for herself. You cannot teach that to your kids, yourself.

Good for your daughter and good for you taking her with you.
