If Lieberman caucuses with the Republicans, will he have seniority based on |
|
his whole time with the Senate, or just with the Republicans? Will they give him committee spots as an incentive? Are there rules governing this or can the Republicans just negotiate whatever deal with him they can both agree on?
Did the Democrats give Jeffords anything concrete in return for changing parties, or just the good will of his countrymen?

if the dems keep Joementum, they keep a hawk liberal dem. if the GOP get Joementum, they pick up a hawk liberal dem. If Joementum (who, imho, has always done what he thought was right, and is not an egomaniac, he is a patriot).
The GOP can offer him anything they want. But they also have to justify it to their base. To many in the GOP Joementum is nothing more then a baby killer.
