When we talk about Prop. 8, how about we talk about everything but race?
Edited on Sun Nov-09-08 03:11 AM by CreekDog
Because i don't recall waking up one day and realizing, "Hey, i'm white, I'll guess I'll vote against Prop. 8!"

I assume people of other races likewise lacked the same epiphany.

So since skin color does not dictate genetically how you will vote, how about we just leave it out of the discussion and talk about how to keep the civil rights movement going forward in the area of same sex marriage?

the vote was very close. victory may not be that far off.

1. victory indeed is very close
Some as soon as next election perhaps but certainly within 6 years. I know that likely sounds like forever to some but it will happen and soon.

3. Very good idea - some of what's been written here borders on blood libel.

4. Remember, every time someone talks shite about black people, a wingnut gets a little thrill of joy

Lets not tear ourselves apart when we are so close to victory on so many fronts. We need each other. We are all good folks, we can overcome this. Lets get along, lest we make the wing nuts VERY happy.

8. you need to ask yourself what it accomplishes
i mean i don't think saying "black culture" instead of "blacks" is going to be taken a whole lot differently.
