Unintentionally - She needs to be in jail
Sarah Palin's attacks on Barack Obama's patriotism provoked a spike in death threats against the future president, Secret Service agents revealed during the final weeks of the campaign.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/uselection2008/sarahpalin/3405336/Sarah-Palin-blamed-by-the-US-Secret-Service-for-death-threats-against-Barack-Obama.html

The revelations, contained in a Newsweek history of the campaign, are likely to further damage Mrs Palin's credentials as a future presidential candidate. She is already a frontrunner, with Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, to take on Mr Obama in four years time.

12. I dont think anybody is worried ....
You know the joke: 68% of Republicans want her to run, but 100% of Democrats want her to run ....

Keeping up the attack on Palin keeps damaging the 'Republican brand' ...

Let's use her up before she slithers away ...

5. 'incite to violence' 'incite to riot'
Edited on Sun Nov-09-08 09:27 AM by Clovis Sangrail
both are so subjective that except in very extreme cases it's bs.

Did Palin 'incite to violence'?
Did the RNC Welcoming Committe do the same ?

I don't think either is guilty of a crime, regardless of how I feel about them.
'Incite to violence' 'conspiracy to riot' and similar charges are used most often to simply stifle speech.

2. if she runs in 2012 (and I doubt she will),
I wonder what her "message" will be?

She can't use "Socialist" or "terrorist" anymore

3. I know a lot of us were saying she was dangerous almost from the beginning
But I, for one, didn't know what form that would take. I knew she was dangerously anti-intellectual and anti-feminism. But I couldn't believe it as I watched her -- by her very silence -- stoke the fires of racism and hate speech.

Why do people keep saying "Palin 2012!"? The nomination would not be a coronation; she'd have to debate several people at a time, and she'd come out looking pathetic. You can't be a presidential candidate without speaking to the press. And is there a chance in the world that she could actually challenge President Obama?

i think all of this talk of her having a political future outside Alaska is just plain crazy. IMO

7. I think this is why I can't accept McCain's concession speech to have been gracious. Even as he was
conceding there were boos about Obama. McCain did not address all of the hateful rhetoric that was thrown at Obama by his running mate and to a lesser extent by himself. The speech did not dispel all of those lies which incited such hate. All of those people still believe all of the shit they were sold creating a dangerous environment for our new President.

8. Intentionally
she wanted to be the vice presidential candidate, and this is what she had to offer - that and the fuck me fantasy for right wingers.

Last week's issue of the New Yorker had an article by Jane Mayer about Palin COURTING the Washington INSIDER establishment when she was elected gov. - a long-time pol. associate from Wassila claimed Palin had her eye on political life beyond Alaska long before you or I ever heard her name. She was the pick for the Bush-neo-con-Christo-fascist wing of the party.

http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2008/10/27/081027fa_fact_mayer?yrail

Palin has been nurturing her image all along - and her attacks on Obama's patriotism, etc. were her "duty" as the v.p. that she seemed to take to like any old-school right wing populist. Take off the make up and she's still a mooselini.

What I want to know is WHY, if she was putting someone's life in danger, someone who was/is a national political figure - WHY didn't the secret service leak this to the major news networks in order to shame her in public and thus put this sort of incitement to violence where it belongs: on the doorstep of the Republican Party insiders (in the neo-con/christo-fascist camp)

John Lewis: McCain, Palin Are "Sowing Seeds of Hatred"

Sat Oct 11, 11:10 pm ET

Congressman John Lewis

"As one who was a victim of violence and hate during the height of the Civil Rights Movement, I am deeply disturbed by the negative tone of the McCain-Palin campaign. What I am seeing reminds me too much of another destructive period in American history. Sen. McCain and Gov. Palin are sowing the seeds of hatred and division, and there is no need for this hostility in our political discourse.

"During another period, in the not too distant past, there was a governor of the state of Alabama named George Wallace who also became a presidential candidate. George Wallace never threw a bomb. He never fired a gun, but he created the climate and the conditions that encouraged vicious attacks against innocent Americans who were simply trying to exercise their constitutional rights. Because of this atmosphere of hate, four little girls were killed on Sunday morning when a church was bombed in Birmingham, Alabama.

The Secret Service warned the Obama family in mid October that they had seen a dramatic increase in the number of threats against the Democratic candidate, coinciding with Mrs Palin's attacks.'

15. Oh Well
I can't help about the shape I'm in
I can't sing, I ain't pretty and my legs are thin
But don't ask me what I think of you
I might not give the answer that you want me to

Oh well

Now, when I talked to God I knew he'd understand
He said, 'Stick by my side and I'll be your guiding hand
But don't ask me what I think of you
I might not give the answer that you want me to'
