Uhmm, I have a question...
Is there a way I can change my handle and keep my paltry amount of posts?
It has taken me a long time to get these posts, I know it is not much, but I'm not much of a talker, more of a reader, and I would like to breathe now that this country has turned mostly blue.
Could someone please let me know?
thank-you.

1. After the 2004 election, there was a name change amnesty
where Skinner announced that people could change their nicks without losing their post count.

Not sure if they're going to do that again, but I wouldn't be surprised.

4. Thank you
I remember when that happened, however I was still in lurker mode and it didn't apply to me at the time.
I hope Skinner decides to do it again.

5. I think there are others here who would appreciate a name change
amnesty. I'm not one of them, honestly, but why don't you email Skinner and ask him?

2. That is an admin or moderator question
usually no, unless you have a stalker, and the mods can handle that too.

I think one time there was a general change your name day, but that does not happen here as a general rule.

I would touch base with a moderator

3. In DU's history, there was one "great rehandling" which, at the time, was called "one-time."
Thus, the prospect is dim (imho) ... but that's up to Skinner, Elad, and EarlG. Only they know.

6. Thanks for your replies.
I guess I will keep holding my breath until 1/20/2009 then I will change it and start all over.

7. Turning blue is entirely consistent with waiting to exhale.

8. I might consider changing mine to "RememberBush" or something similar.

... just so that we never forget.

Just a thought.
