Did Bob Novak's hit and run victim ever receive justice?
I can't find any info on it.

It's great to be rich and powerful in America, I guess.

1. From wiki:
On July 23, 2008, Novak received a citation from police for "failing to yield a right of way" to an 86-year-old pedestrian, Don Clifford Liljenquist, who was hit by Novak's Corvette in slow-moving traffic. Novak drove approximately one block from the scene before being flagged down by a cyclist who had witnessed the accident and subsequently called the police. Novak said that he was unaware that a collision had occurred until being informed by eyewitnesses. The pedestrian was taken to George Washington University Hospital and treated for a dislocated shoulder.<33><34><35><36> Shortly after the accident, on July 27, 2008, Novak was admitted to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston where he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. In a written statement given to his publisher, Novak said: “Doctors will soon begin appropriate treatment. I will be suspending my journalistic work for an indefinite but, God willing, not too lengthy period.” <37> Hospital residents check for brain tumors in patients who didn't realize they struck something in a car accident, as this can be a focal neurologic sign.<38> Novak tendered his resignation from his column on August 4, 2008 after revealing that the prognosis on his tumor was considered "dire".<39> Later that month, he began writing new opinion columns for Creators Syndicate. <40>

2. Sounds like a rather elaborate lie
to avoid prosecution.

10. Those suffering from glioblastomas have experiences like this often.
The accident was caused by his brain tumor. My mother suffered from glioblastoma. She never did anything this dangerous, but once called 911 without realizing it, and forgot how to spell the word "books" when helping me pack to move. We were fortunate in that she was already legally blind due to macular degeneration, so, was no longer driving. Otherwise, I could easily have seen her doing a thing like this.

I really do expect progressives to show some compassion to those suffering from such a terrible condition.

I am once again disappointed.

11. The implication of the article is no, because the brain tumor limited his culpability nt

3. What were you hoping for? It was an accident. Novak has a brain tumor. I am sure
they have insurance settlements.

6. A lot of states have a "sudden emergency" clause
or sim that states liability is limited if a person is afflicted through no fault of their own. Used against me by a man who had Crohn's and the flu yet ignored doctor's orders to stay home. Passed out and hit me head on. Ouch.

8. Hopefully his license was revoked
at the very least. I feel sorry for his situation (which seems suspect now that he has continued to write columns).

9. He is terminal they said, but doing what is normal for him. Like Ted Kennedy they want to
do their jobs as long as they can. I just wouldn't want to see any charges for something he had no control over. I am sure he can't drive anymore, and doesn't probably want to. I heard he was very remorseful about it. Personally I don't like him, but I still have compassion for all people.

7. Novak unfortunately can't blame his flippant and uncaring attitude
on his tumor. Hopefully he isn't treated the way he treats others.
