Can everyone please stop picking on Sarah?
Edited on Sun Nov-09-08 08:35 PM by joeunderdog
Poor Sarah is getting it from all sides. The Liberals have been shredding her from the beginning. Now, McCain’s insiders are piling on with some nasty, anonymous shots at her before she even touched down somewhere near WasillaLand. I don’t get it.

She was chosen to be McCain’s running mate because her good looks and feisty personality were supposed to add the missing spark to a campaign that was falling behind in the polls. McCain, the then-Presidential hopeful, went against the advice of many and swung for the fences when he picked her. He needed her image and energy and that’s what he got.

Seems like McCain knows a little something about trophy brides. He left his sick first wife for a beautiful, rich upgrade who would make one heckuva a pretty Fembot of a first lady. No surprise that an ex-beauty queen named Sarah looked so tantalizing to him.

Unfortunately, Sarah was quickly exposed for being shockingly skin deep. One blunder after another showed that she was all sizzle and no substance. McCain sunk in the polls and Obama rolled to victory. :toast:

So, to all of McCain’s hit men blaming poor Sarah right now, don't forget to launch a few “You Idiot!”s :dunce::dunce::dunce: to Senator McCain. Sarah performed just as you’d expect from a shallow, inexperienced, over-her-head wannabe with questionable--OK, bad--ethics. Did McCain think she could cram for the Vice Presidency? Maybe he just thought no one would ask her any questions. Perhaps the problem was that McCain hadn’t before he picked her. Did McCain really think a beauty queen who has illegally charged tens of thousands of dollars in travel expenses for her kids to the State of Alaska wouldn’t take advantage of a GOP blank check to Neiman Marcus? Puh-lease. Did he think no one would know how to use a computer to uncover the stories of abuse of power that surround Sarah?

McCain had plenty of time to figure this out before he chose her for one of the most important positions in the world. He’s just as shallow and stupid as poor Sarah, except he was the one running to be The New Decider. Bad decision, Johnny, because it cost you any slim chance you had of winning. So for that, we thank you. And we Liberals should also thank Sarah for, well, for just being Sarah.

Sarah was a big part of our Obama victory, and now it’s time for the GOP to bury her politically. It’s already started. But there’s a place for as pretty and angry and provocative as Sarah, so don't cry for her. Just look for her on a major network near you. She'll probably be the new female Ann Coulter.:puke::puke::puke:

17. What an insult to Oprah.
In case you haven't noticed, Oprah is highly intelligent and not a nasty partisan.

2. I absolutely loved this line from Gail Collins' column in the NYT.
"The Republicans are being way more nasty to Sarah Palin than the Democrats are to Lieberman. They’ve been portraying her as both a shopaholic and a woman who walks around in nothing but a bath towel, a hillbilly who’s also a prima donna. The leakathon climaxed this week when Fox News’s Carl Cameron announced that Palin did not know that Africa was a continent.

Palin says this is untrue. But the worst part is that if these people get any meaner, we’re going to wind up feeling sorry for her. This is not something we are looking forward to, Republicans, and we will resent you for it. "

6. Countless unqualified people would have taken the opportunity.
It was McCain's responsibility to weed them out. In essence, the fact that he didn't was what exposed him and his party as the frauds they are.

23. Save a little dollop of blame
Remember how long she was touted as qualified? And remember who was doing the puffing? Yes, the bulldogs of the Fourth Estate, sleepwalking through nearly eight years of Bush crimes woke up in time to slaver all over Sarah Palin. A governor! A hockey mom! Oooh, a pit bull with lipstick! They panted around after her like a kennel full of horn dogs.

And they knew. They knew she was a bubblehead. And for a couple of weeks after the Republican convention, McCain's poll numbers actually rose a bit. And here was Vaporbrain Palin, the heartbeat of one rickety 72-year-old away from the Oval Office, droppin' g's and winking at the camera, and the major media couldn't give less of a flying monkey fuck. Nobody said a word, knowing that she was dangerously unqualified. Of course, these are the same idiots who covered for George W. Bush until his world class incompetence finally leaked out all over the military, the city of New Orleans, and our whole country.

So thanks a fucking heap, ABC, CBS and NBC. You came within an ace of saddling us with the Wasilla Hillbillies after eight years of the Mayberry Machiavellis. Assholes.

14. This was absolutely the most shocking thing
about Candidate Sarah that we saw over the past two months. She never, ever talked like that here as governor. She built her reputation and her popularity on her bipartisanship and cooperation with the Democrats in the state legislature. I tuned into the Republican Party convention after her pick hoping that she would present this side of herself to the national audience and make Alaska proud. Instead, she has done nothing but embarrass us every day since. She will never be trusted here again.

25. Stay on Palin's Ass Until she is Destroyed Politically!
Sarah Palin is dangerous PRECISELY because of the orgasms she spawns in the KKK republicans which makes her our MOST DANGEROUS ENEMY during the upcoming political cycle. Despite the fact that we successfully portrayed her idiotic positions, her shrill nature, and her blatantly partisan exclusive nature, the bottom line is that she is STILL governor of Alaska and will be in position to create havoc in the lunatic republican fringe base (which is pretty much the entire party).

To that end, we must STEP UP our efforts to DESTROY Sarah Palin's political career. We must criticize her EVERY action at the national level. Until we can ban the republican party outright, we need to stay on this. In addition, we need to keep an eye out for Bobby Jindal, governor of Louisiana. But Sarah Palin needs to remain on our focus, because of the sexual energy she brought to the lunatics.

28. She is an easy target. One that EVERY DU'er can bash at will without fear of reprisal.
It gives DU'ers a chance to be as nasty as they like, within reason (such as advocating physical harm against her), and have everyone who reads their post agree with it gleefully. It's also an easy way to get one of your posts onto the greatest page. Plus, in my humble opinion, more than a few DU'ers see it as a chance to call out her defenders (however soft their defense may be) as freepers, trolls, or rethugs. It's fun. Her being from Alaska (albeit not originally) gives people from a whole lot of states someone to look down on. I mean, come on... If not for Alaska, who would Mississippi have to make fun of? It's also a useless waste of bandwidth.

Put a fork in her. She's done.

PS... I'm surprised that you haven't been bashed publicly for stating here that Cindy McKamikaze is "a beautiful, rich upgrade who would make one heckuva a pretty Fembot of a first lady".

29. I agree. Besides, Palin did fix one thing.
You know all those cracks Hillary said she put in the glass ceiling? Well, Palin plastered over each and every one of those cracks in record time. It's going to take a helluva lot to get anywhere near putting a crack in that ceiling again.
