Reid Cautious On A Lieberman Decision

(The Politico) Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) signaled Sunday that he might be ready to forgive Connecticut Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman, an independent who caucuses with Democrats, days after the two held a private meeting in the Capitol.

Party activists want Reid to strip Lieberman of his chairmanship atop the Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs for campaigning against President-elect Barack Obama.

"He is a senior member of the Senate," Reid said on CNN's "Late Edition," reminding viewers that Lieberman would become chairman of the Armed Services or Environment and Public Works committees if "something happens to the chairman."

More personally, Reid said he "would not be majority leader but for vote."

4. Reid and Lieberman BOTH have to be ancient history
I'm tired of Harry Reid pretending he's upset over a wrong, and then it turns out he does nothing and was bullshitting everyone all along.

8. Lieberman needs to be stripped of his committee assingments
And Reid needs to be ousted as Senate Majority Leader if he's going to knuckle under when it comes to that piece of work Lieberman.

11. Either Reid gets RID of Lieberman or we need to get rid of Reid!
Reid is such a fucking p*ssy - I'm so SICK of him.

bad enough he CAVED in on the war - doesn't he realize
that the only reason Benedict Lieberman is so anxious
to hold on to his chairmanship is to serve his liege-
lords in the republican party by trying to constantly
find any "fault" in the Obama administration? As chair-
man, he'll hold hearings constantly based on bullsh-t
bases and try to point the finger and weaken the ability
of President Obama to get things done on important issues
like Health Care, Financial Industry Regulation, Ending
The War and Alternative Energy!

if Reid doesn't REMOVE Lieberman...then REID needs to GO.

Now.

12. Another approach to the problem
Edited on Mon Nov-10-08 12:13 AM by azurnoir
Reid should be reminded of Lieberman's history of switching loyalties with which ever way the political winds are blowing, is this a man we want in charge of "security" of any kind? Surely if Obama and the Senate want to reach across party lines there is a Republican who is far more honorable than Mr Lieberman, say Olympia Snowe perhaps.

14. The problem is simple.
Lieberman wants to hang on to the chairmanship of Homeland Security, you know, the guys who SPY on Americans like you, me, or Barack Obama.

Lieberman can't be trusted to keep information confidential and not leak to his Republican butt-kissers.

18. I wasn't denying that Lieberman
Edited on Mon Nov-10-08 01:02 AM by azurnoir
is a problem, just an approach that says his loyalties are a bit too "flexible" for him to be trusted by anyone, let alone the security of the country, I do not have a problem with a republican in charge of Homeland Security if need be, as far as spying on the public at large I believe that will be changing quite soon.

as it is now existing and sets up an entirely new and improved version? Wouldn't that rid us of Lieberman? Whole new Security department with younger, smarter, well you get what I mean...

25. Oh Reid - you wimp
How did he ever get the leadership position to begin with? He's utterly useless and needs to be pushed to the back bench, if not out of Congress entirely. Get someone who can LEAD!!!

And get rid of Pelosi while we're at it.
