If You Were To Steal From The Other Team (GOP RINOs), Who Should Switch?
The latest reports are that there is going to be a battle for control of the GOP with the rightwing nutjobs already blaming the more moderate members of their party for their losses in 2008. That's right, according to Rush Limbaugh, the GOP was not conservative enough! So, given this battle, if anyone current elected Republican were to consider switching parties, who would you want to come over to our side?

Olympia Snowe?
Arnold Schwartznegger?
Susan Collins?

The extreme right wing of the Republican will likely make things extremely difficult for the moderate wing of their party as they try to filibuster and obstruct Obama's agenda. Thus, folks like Snowe and Collins will be put in a very difficult place of either trying to be partisan and tank Obama and the country, or voting their conscience.

So, if you were going to steal from the other team, who would it be?

9. Actually, Reid has a proven track record at flipping disaffected moderate repukes
see under Jeffords, Jim. He'd be just the guy to pull off a "Snowe job"!

6. Unfortunately, neither will be in the next Congress.
Whitehouse beat Chaffee in 2006 and Hagel is retiring.

There really aren't many Senate opportunities to get a switch done.

11. Almost wish Joe Liebermann Would Join The GOP - He Would Be Marginalized
Think about it, the GOP is moving rightward, and while the GOP would welcome Liebermann, he would have to flip on most every other issue excepts Iraq. To be purely vindictive, you almost hope that Liebermann joins the GOP, then is forced to take the leading in challenging Obama, which would alienate him from moderates, and pave the way for a loss when he runs for re-election.

4. Snowe, in theory, should be a good switch candidate.
She'll be a target for the extreme Right wing of this Party in the next election. She's pro-choice and she should be pissed that she wasn't the woman chosen for the McCain's VP slot. Her re-election, as a Democrat, would be assured.
