It is traditional that the new president allows his predecessor to use Air Force One one last time, to return to his home.

Clinton flew to New York on his way to Chappaqua.

Poppy went to Houston

St Ronnie went to Santa Barbara.

Jimmy went to Plains (actually, Athens, if memory serves).

Jerry went to Palm Springs.

Dick went to Los Angeles on his way to Whittier.

Lyndon went to Johnson City.

Where will George go?

Crawford (Waco, actually)? I hear the place is for sale.

Dallas? Rumor has it they bought a place there.

Paraguay? Rumors abound ....

Where do you think he'll go when he leaves. Not where he'll ultimately live, but rather, where, on that day, will he fly?

2. South America...
I read an article that he bought a huge estate down there. He's going to run to war criminal heaven... I hope he never comes back unless he's in handcuffs.

3. The very moment Obama is sworn in, the plane ceases to be AF-1
It's call sign is changed in flight.

It becomes just another airplane.

6. You're sorta right
It is Air Force One *only* when the president is on board.

Obama's swearing in is immaterial to the plane's call sign status.

15. Doesn't the one imply the other?
It is AF-1 because the President is on board.

When Obama is sworn in, GWB is no longer President. So it ceases to be AF-1.

I think we're in agreement here. :hi:
