A call for gay rights missionaries

As I've posted in a couple of other threads here, I think I have a better idea for how to handle those opposed to gay rights and, more specifically, Mormons knocking on your door.

Instead of getting angry, which, while it might make you feel good, IMHO does nothing to further the cause of gay rights, why don't we use their own tactics on them.

They are, after all, requesting to go into your residence. Invite them in. But, instead of letting them give you their message, give them you message. Tell them how the Church they are proselytizing for is violating key principles of the Constitution. Ask them to show you passages in the bible where Jesus said gay people cannot marry. These kids have probably never heard the other side. You would be doing them and the world a big favor.

The specific thing I propose is this: As I recall, these missionaries carry a small card that has the 10 key things they believe in. Our missionaries need something similar. Probably 3 x 5, nice graphics. Clear crisp points, and a phone number to call for further information. Ideally, we would also invite them to a meeting somewhere they could "investigate" further. I believe they call people who are interested in more information "investigators". Unfortunately, I'm not that good a writer. It would be great if some of the better writers here on DU could come up with this card.

And, offer them a piece of pie and milk. They are probably hungry and scared. Many of them were essentially forced to do this through pressure from friends and family. They are young and impressionable. The things you tell them will be remembered.
