Documents linking Iran to nuclear weapons push may have been fabricated

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has obtained evidence suggesting that documents which have been described as technical studies for a secret Iranian nuclear weapons-related research program may have been fabricated.

The documents in question were acquired by U.S. intelligence in 2004 from a still unknown source -- most of them in the form of electronic files allegedly stolen from a laptop computer belonging to an Iranian researcher. The US has based much of its push for sanctions against Iran on these documents.

The new evidence of possible fraud has increased pressure within the IAEA secretariat to distance the agency from the laptop documents, according to a Vienna-based diplomatic source close to the IAEA, who spoke to RAW STORY on condition of anonymity.

8. This is the one problem I have with Pres elect Obama

He too easily bought into the evidence that Iran is pursuing Nukes. Iran does have the right to pursue peacefull nuke power. Untill there is REAL evidence I feel he should work under the assumption that Iran has no nefarious plans, imo. Can still carefully monitor. DIPLOMACY! What does Pres Clinton think about this I wonder?

Obama knows the difference between nuclear energy and nuclear weapons. I cannot however 'out' the person who assured me that this is the case especially in regard to our treatment of Iran. The proof will be after he takes office. Believe me I have the same concern, but I suspect we are overly worried and should not be. I realize that is a weak response but for now there are bigger fish.

If Raw Story has it right, then this is a replay of the forged docs re Niger uranium purchases by Saddam. They just keep doing it, and will until prosecuted. Also true to form is the latest news about the admin reneging on its pledge of transparency re the recipients of bailout funds. So, after the election, another bit of true-form we have to look forward to will be the discovery that the treasury was CLEANED OUT during the very period we are living in, bailout funds transferred to the winners (Morgan, BofA, etc...), who didn't need it to stay solvent but did need it to purchase the competition, thereby solidifying their position and shore up the whacked game for a few quarters longer. And then . . . ?

22. The Niger forgeries were debunked after 3 months.

I've been theorizing that the drop in oil prices that started in July was linked to the decision NOT to attack Iran. This finding came out in May and roughly 3 months later Bush sends a message to Israel asking them not to attack Iran.
