Do you think Barack and Joey B and Rahm and Holy Joe can get me one?

1. I had a good job under Clinton and lost it under Bush.
So they might not GET you a good job, but you'll have a much better shot at it under a democratic admin than under shrub.

8. I don't think I can make it another year
much less two.

Is there a real commitment to job creation, do you think?

20. I ended up joining the military due to employment issues.
The military REALLY sucks balls though, so I suggest you avoid it unless you get desperate. It's kind of like going back to high school. It's nothing but politics and infighting among cliques. But the pay and benefits are actually pretty decent. I was able to support myself and my wife making E-3/4 pay by myself. They give you a roof over your head and make sure you don't starve to death. If you just want a break from life I'd go in for a job as a cook or something else. I went nuclear... it's hellish, 85 hour work weeks are commonm and I had freinds working 100+ hrs a week.

24. What do you do? What skills do you have?
It's hard to help if we don't know that.

Thanks!

3. Go to Change.gov
There is a section for applying for work with the Obama administration!

I should apply... I had a dream on 11/4 that Obama hired me for some administrative/family executive assistant job... and I said I had to bring my daughter! LOL! I told her about the dream and she was ready to pack! hahahhahha!!

12. thanks.
I'm in colorado. I'm looking for just about anything at this point.

I even went down the list in all the categories in craigslist and replied to any job I wasn't just blatantly unqualified for. That's like a thousand jobs right there. So far, not a single response, except for the ones that are just scams trying to get me to buy their book or enroll in their program or whatever.

I currently have three part-time jobs, which combined *almost* pay half my bills. My mom died a couple of weeks ago, so now I have beaucoup expenses from the hospital and ambulance and funeral home and stuff. My car just got stolen, so I had to pay whopper salvage, impound and towing bills. Insurance will reimburse some of that, but my "kitty" for paying next month's bills just got zeroed. My ex just gave me a bill for $1300 of expenses for my kids.

I need an f-ing job! 305 million people. I'm smart and have useful skills and I can't get a freaking job? What's wrong with this country?

Now, I'm off to see if my neighbor still has her Sunday classified ads.

Fucking hell.

10. Under Bush, about 40 percent of your federal taxes went towards military expenses,

which made me feel a little better about being unemployed much of the year. It's still probably the same or more now, but under an Obama administration, I would hope that our country's priorities drastically improve.

18. skills?
I have excellent basic computer skills, including: PC, Mac, Linux, most of the common office productivity software, databases (Access, SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase, DB2), Adobe Creative Suite, html/xhtml, CSS, Flash.

I have excellent writing skills (although you can't always tell it here at DU -LOL), including: white papers, press releases, advertising copy, training materials, syllabi, lesson plans, marketing plans, business plans, grants, product requirements, specifications.

I'm an excellent trainer and teacher. I also have worked in marketing all the way from copywriter to product marketing and product management to VP of Marketing. I am good at online and search-engine marketing, but apparently no one wants to hire an "old guy" (50) for that kind of work. I have founded and led a nonprofit as Executive Director. I founded two small businesses, the sale of one of which is the only thing that has kept me from starving the last five years.

I've been working as a part-time college instructor, as a musician and doing whatever consulting/temp work/freelance work I can find. It's just not enough to pay the bills. One or two bad months in any of the areas will be a disaster. Last year, I had two long dry spells, which decimated my meager reserves. Now I've been hammered by a long illness and death in the family. It's looking bleak.

I've been through there. Mostly big box stores and strip malls, though not all bad. If you're Jewish and need money, move to Dothan!

23. Last 8 years... 60% of the Wealth has gone to the top 2% of Population.
(Heard this on Tom Hartman) How come people aren't in the streets instead of letting the Neocons re-group and spread more of the same? Just wondering?
