I don't really give a shit whether lieberman stays or goes. |
|
Sure, I've raged against him here. I can't stand him. I'd like to see him kicked off as chair of Homeland Security, but I don't think he can do any harm to Obama even if he does hold onto that chairmanship. He's not going to try and subvert Obama. Why? Because there is NOTHING in it for the supremely self-centered joe. lieberman has been neutered by the new dem majority in the Senate and by President-elect Obama, so although I personally can't stand the little fuckwad, he no longer feels like such an irritant.

3. He Needs To Go From Homeland Security |
|
Let me go a step further...that committee and its fascist sounding name has to go as well. It should be renamed the "Senate Oversight Committee"...which is what is was designed to do, and why Traitor Joe can't be in charge. While his House counterpart, Henry Waxman, was overloaded with scandals and investigations, Traitor Joe couldn't find a single thing wrong...not one investigation into corrupt contractors or inept officials or massive fleecing of our treasury...nada...all seemed fine to him.
I don't care if he's kicked out of the caucus and if his latest whine is to be believed, then he'll walk himself if he doesn't get his way. That's fine. As you say, we're not dealing with the same Senate we had for the past two years and a whole new political dynamic that happens when there's a party change in the Executive.
The thing is that Joementum will probably vote with us on most domestic matters (a reason the GOOP really doesn't want him in their midsts) and will vote against the majority on foreign policy and military matters. That's fine...cause we're sure to have a Snowe or Specter or Voinovich or other repugnican who will cross over and Joe's vote will mean nothing.
Let him hang...let him rot.
Cheers
:hi:

4. I like Obama's strategy with Lieberman. |
|
He's not letting him be a martyr and fight us in the press like a wounded bear. I'm interested to see how this goes. Obama must have studied judo.

5. Lieberman is a vindictive son-of-a-b*tch and a Repuke toadie |
|
He will help the GOP undermine Obama's policy in Iraq and elsewhere. Lieberman loves the media spotlight and doesn't see when he's become a fool.

6. It isn't Joe, it's the need for a demonstration of accountability |
|
There will be no discipline among the dems if they believe there is no accountability for going as far afield from the party interests as Lieberman has gone.

8. Of course, no one bothers to look at... |
|
his actions on healthcare, the environment, Darfur, or pretty much anything else than Iraq and being so clubby with McCain. He's an annoyance, but not a monster.
Since he is in the Senate, and there's not a damn thing anyone here can do about it, why worry?

11. Yeah, his faith based initiative work should stand us in good stead there.... |
|
:eyes:
Flush the crap. He can NOT be trusted anywhere, and he has been an EXTORTIONIST with his votes.
In any other situation, this would NOT be questioned.
I work for a company with a large sales force. If one of us was caught selling our competitor's product WE WOULD BE FIRED. Rightfully so.
Can't have it.
Sorry.
