1. Thanks for posting this. If we can rally the support for this that we did for Obama,
we just might be able to make it happen.

11. The regeime needs to held responable for it's action.
I am so excited about Obama being elected that I am reluctant to post anything negative. But on this issue I have to make an exception. With the Bush people at the helm we came so frighteningly close to a dictatorship that it sends chills down my spine to even think about it.

To secure or freedoms and rights I think it is critically imperative that a clear message be sent to would be tyrants and their ilk that people who break the law against the will of the people are held accountable for their actions. To me there is no question as to weather or not the Bush people committed crimes while in office. They did, it's a prima facia case. (See Dennis Kucinich, Vincent Bugliosi, et-al

And that has to be acted upon by bringing the full weight of the law to bear against them.

Dozens of protesters have gathered outside the Department of Justice to urge indictment and trail of the US President and Vice President.

The activists and legal observers participating in the demonstrations wanted to deliver a letter to Attorney General Michael B. Mukasey, saying outgoing President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney should be taken accountable for treason, murder, bribery and other high crimes.

"This is not about getting them out of office, that's impeachment. This is about holding them accountable," said David Swanson, the founder of After Downing Street (ADS).

On the way to the department, the crowd, however, was stopped by a low-level press secretary who pledged he would hand the letter over to the attorney general, Press TV correspondent Jahan Hafez reported.

<snip>

"We are directly responsible for those and I would call them murders …Then you have another four million Iraqis who have been displaced from their homes and businesses and their children. There is cholera, there is no water, there is no electricity," another protester lamented, referring to the dire consequences the Iraqi nation has been suffering after the US-led invasion of the country in 2003.

None of us can truly predict the future.

13. I have a feeling the international community isn't going to let these crimes stand.
If the US doesn't do it, a foreign entity certainly will.

4. There is no excuse for having started that war. None.
Millions of humans around this globe will not rest until those who are responsible for destroying an entire country are found and tried.

You don't get off when you smoke a joint, as ridiculous as that may be. I don't think a large fraction of Americans realize just what this war did to the children of that country, let alone it's environment. Depleted Uranium with a halflife of over a billion years, lies in the dirt of that country, waiting to inflict generations essentially forever.

5. Go Global!
I will donate $500 to ANY organization that will place a Bounty on Bush/Cheney to be paid to anyone who provides concrete evidence that leads to their indictment or arrest.

A small, transparent trust located in a neutral country like Switzerland could administer the fund. If the BOUNTY is promoted internationally, it would quickly grow to Mega-Millions.

The fund would also be tasked with running full page Wanted For War Crimes ads in major Global newspapers every 3 months until the Bounty is awarded or depleted.

I believe that such a fund would be wildly popular worldwide, and provide the administrators an opportunity to make a little money.
I have neither the resources or skills to institute such a fund, but like I said above, I am willing to donate $500. I also believe that there are at least a million more worldwide (extreme minimum) who would also be willing to donate....that adds up to some serious money.

Wanted
for
WAR CRIMES

A $500 Million Dollar Reward will be paid to any individual, organization, or country that provides concrete information leading to the arrest, or the issuance of an Internal Arrest Warrant for War Crimes committed by George Bush, Dick Cheney, Colin Powell, Condoleezza Rice, or Donald Rumsfeld.

It is clear that the Opposition Party (Democratic Party) and the US Justice Department will do NOTHING to hold the criminals accountable.
A private organization representing Citizens of the World would have better results.
After observing the response to Michele Bachmann's appearance on MSNBC, I have no doubt that such a fund would be a HUGE success.

Even if Bush/Cheney are never arrested, a Mega-Million Dollar International Bounty would certainly keep them looking over their shoulders, curtail retirement travel plans, AND serve as a warning to future "Unitary Executives".

It would also put a nice ribbon around the Bush Legacy.

15. I agree with the desired outcome-(note my impeach bush avatar) but...
I heard this on Thom Hartmann today and elsewhere earlier: We should start with the smaller crooks and work our way up. This, according to Hartmann, is the best way to eventually get to the leaders of any large criminal organization. It is suggested that there should be many among these lower echelons who are willing to trade testimony regarding their superiors for shorter stays in jail.

This sounds reasonable to me and furthermore, this method may fuel public interest in the matter as higher and higher crooks are brought in and brought down! By the time Rove is brought in for testimony, the American public may be a hell of a lot more on-board with actual accountability than we are currently.
