LIMA (Reuters) - Peruvians crazy about their national dog, a bald and often toothless breed popular among Incan kings, offered on Monday to send a hypoallergenic puppy to the Obama family.

U.S. President-elect Barack Obama has promised daughters Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7, a new pet for the White House. But Malia is allergic to most breeds, he said on Friday as speculation swirled about the dog the family would choose.

Galvez has a 4-month-old pedigree puppy to send to the Obama family. For now, she is calling it Ears because it has two large, perky ones.

"But if we send it to the United States, its official name will be Machu Picchu," she said, referring to the ancient Incan citadel, Peru's top tourist attraction.

1. No thanks, we already have one John Bolton in this country.
We don't need two toothless, acne-ridden horror creatures.

2. I saw some of those in Brazil!
I went to Foz De Guacu which is a big waterfall area in SW Brazil and this guy was walking three of them. They're cute when they're young but they're extremely ugly when they get older.

6. Something tells me the Obama family could end up with quite the dog pack.

I had wondered about those crested dogs that often show up in the ugly dog competitions because I thought they were pretty much hairless. (Picture added on edit.)

Now I see there is another bald breed that is a possibility. Makes me wonder just how many breeds of dogs there are out there that are hairless...

9. Chupacabra!!!!
Anyone remember the video from a police-cam a few months back... it was something that looks like a creepy dog running up a road. I swear it was this thing.
