A salute to the Veterans of the DU

Today, is a special day for the veterans in our community. I lost my wonderful Dad last year, he was a veteran of WW2 and a survivor of the Omaha Beach invasion on D-Day.

Dad was a committed patriot and a Democrat with a capital D.

Patriotism comes in all forms of service, military, private, volunteerism, commitment to higher ideals.

So to all the men and women in the DU who have served, we salute you. This is your day!
