Tomorrow is a great day in Connecticut! Read about the festivities here!
Bring balloons, flowers, and your camera!

Come celebrate with marriage equality supporters from around
the state as we mark this historic occasion!

NEW HAVEN: The festivities will begin tomorrow, November 12th at 10am on the sidewalk in front of New Haven City Hall, 165 Church Street. Barb and Robin Levine-Ritterman of New Haven , one of the eight plaintiff couples in the Kerrigan case, will be the first couple to apply for a marriage license there.

WEST HARTFORD: Later the same day, at 2:30pm at West Hartford Town Hall , 50 South Main Street, plaintiffs Beth Kerrigan and Jody Mock of West Hartford will apply for their marriage license.

We expect extensive media coverage and crowds at both locations.

BE THERE AND BRING A FRIEND!!!! Forward this email.

Visit our website for all breaking news, ticket information for upcoming events including Men, Martinis & More and Trans Plantations, and our page on Getting Married in Connecticut where you can find GLAD's legal guide on getting married, the LMF Wedding Catalog, and lists of Clergy and JPs who will officiate at your ceremony.

5. Can you, like, celebrate by...
Running a spit up his ass and out his mouth and maybe roasting him over a slow, smoky hardwood fire? It would be really festive and I can send you a great recipe for a North Carolina Mop Sauce.

And heartfelt congratulations to the couple. May their lives be always surrounded by great happiness.

4. At least there are two states where people still have the right to marry
whomever they want!

7. Congrats to everyone in CT
as we in CA wait to see if we're still married. I'm really happy for you. And say a prayer -- or something -- that sanity prevails in CA.

8. Our state supreme court's decision can only be good for everyone.
Even tho it is a state court decision, it does reflect an evolving legal argument wherein the court emphatically applied the equal protection clause of the 14th amendment. THIS is what we will win on, I am certain. It puts the lie to all this "special" or "new" rights for gays that the righties always want to say.

9. The best thing is how so far, nobody is concerned
We don't have rambling fundies bemoaning the loss of civilization, or saying our state will fail. Conservatives just shrug their shoulders and say "good for them". What an awesome place to live.

There is now a 4 state safe zone in New England for Homosexuals. Mass and Conn allow marriage, and Rhode Island and New York will recognize them. Come on over, WE really could use you! This region has been losing population for far too long.

10. I said that a few days ago! We need all the talent, creativity and intelligence we can get!
It's terrible when any state experiences a "brain drain" but I can see how something like Prop 8 could produce one.

The earth is still spinning on its axis, as you say!!!
