World's ugliest dog dies, will be beautiful in heaven
Tuesday, November 11, 2008
A one-eyed, three-legged dog that won the title of world's ugliest pooch this summer has died.

Gus, a hairless Chinese crested dog, succumbed to cancer after a long battle, according to The St. Petersburg Times in Florida. He was 9.

Gus was rescued from a bad home and went on to win the annual World's Ugliest Dog contest at the Sonoma-Marin Fair in northern California.

3. There are no ugly dogs.
"'He took me to amazing places,' said his tearful owner, Jeanenne Teed."

Sweet little Gus, I'm glad he ended up with someone who cared so deeply for him.

8. There really are no ugly dogs.
Except for maybe the dog that attacked me when I was five.

5. I think they are adorable!!
Chinese cresteds always seem to win that Ugliest Dog Contest. But every crested I've seen seems to have the best personality!

7. Looks like he'll be running the same yard as Sam.
This is Sam, the previous winner. Sadly, he moved on to that big yard in the sky as well.

Dogs that came after Sam were merely ugly. Sam is Lovecraftian in his ugliness!
