Tammy Duckworth as the junior senator from Illinois? |
|
Maddow just mentioned this in her program intro.
I can get behind this.
Jesse Jackson Jr seemed to have the inside track, but I like this one.

2. I like Jesse Jr better. But, she could be my senator. I'd be ok with that. |
|
could someone notify Blago please?
Poor Blago... No one likes him. His approval ratings are lower than bush's. But, damn he's getting some attention about the senate seat.

She will have a terrible time winning re-election in 2 years. She is a pretty awful campaigner. The DCCC dumped millions of dollars into her campaign in 2006, and she barely did any better than Christine Cegelis did in 2004, even though Cegelis had almost no support from the party (though she did get support from DFA) and was running against Henry Hyde.

7. Exactly! Cegelis could've won in 2006 except for the fact that Rahm demanded Duckworth run - |
|
Rahm ran Duckworth in a Congressional District in which she did not live (that is legal in Illinois). Cegelis HAD ground troops up and running when Rahm's DCCC pushed Duckworth into the race -- Duckworth has NO support on the ground but DCCC paid $$$$$$ for ads and she pulled ahead of Cegelis' grassroots, underfunded campaign in the primary. Cegelis could've won the General in 2006 - she had name recognition and volunteer support from her 2004 run.

9. I think she would be well suited for the VA leadership |
|
She could get things done. She would also be good as Obama's replacement.
