Need some info on the effects of raising the Minimum Wage

From everything I have heard, most studies show there are more positive effects than negative effects though Google search brings up thousands of headlines all saying different things. Can anyone suggest a specific study that is given more clout than the others?

2. Have you tried google scholar
Anything on the internet would be a waste of time, since the sites will have clear agenda.

I would look into scholarly articles if you want some real objective information on the topic.

3. There is lots of googled stuff
that amply demonstrates a lack of correlation between increases in the minimum wage and either positive or negative effects on economic activity.

The economic argument against the minimum wage depends on an assumption 'ceteris paribus: all other things held equal', which is to say that in a theoretical world where one could change only the minimum wage while all the other thousands, millions, of variables that affect economic activity remain unchanged, then increasing the minimum wage would decrease economic activity.

The point being that that can't ever happen, and ignores the complex non-linear feedback effects that our actual economic reality is driven by, so like much of economics it is complex theoretical bullshit that attempts to predict the future based on absurd oversimplified models of reality, typically with an ideological agenda at work in shaping the model to cook the results.

rhyme..and I have a new blog..being completely ignored at the Lounge..so here is YOUR inpspired new rhyme:

Can I plez haz a bailout?

The poor, the poor-the poor who knew
the power in their hands
a loan, a raise, the dollars few
brought down the mighty lands.

The rich left begging for their alms
the mighty at the helm
even shade from royal palms
couldn't save the gated realm.

A bail! a bail! a bucket full
of cash from pockets few
into treasures of the dull
the greenbacks freely flew.

Paulson was and Paulson is
a banker much like Potter
Bailey dies or Bailey lives
OUR Clarence sure will totter.

If only I could be a bank
the riches I would ponder
from the taxpayer I would yank
money just to squander.

and my new blog site being ignored in the Lounge: http://angstlessrhymer.blogspot.com/

6. Thanks for that. Well done!

Those in the lounge tend to ignore the best stuff it seems.
