MarketWatch: Reaganomics hidden in 'sleeper cell' armed with lethal 'financial WMDs'
Warning: King Henry's bailout like Rummy's Iraq
Reaganomics hidden in 'sleeper cell' armed with lethal 'financial WMDs'
By Paul B. Farrell, MarketWatch

ARROYO GRANDE, Calif. (MarketWatch) -- So you thought Barack Obama's victory signaled the death of Reaganomics? Wrong, wrong: Reaganomics is very much alive.

In a subtle, bloodless coup, the Reaganomics ideology magically pulled victory out of the jaws of defeat in the meltdown. The magic happened fast and quietly, in the shadows, while you were in a trance, distracted by the election drama.

Recently Naomi Klein, author of "The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism," framed the issue perfectly: "Has the Treasury partially nationalized the private banks, as we have been told? Or is it the other way around?" The question was rhetorical, the answer painfully clear. In a few weeks Wall Street did the old bait and switch, emerging from an economic and market disaster with new powers, in total control of America.

And thanks to Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson's brilliant bailout coup, Reaganomics is now the new "sleeper cell" quietly hidden inside the Obama White House and America's Treasury, where it will be for a long time to come, armed with what Warren Buffett calls financial weapons of mass destruction, guaranteed to sabotage the new president, taxpayers and the future of America.

Listen closely folks: You and your government are and will continue being conned out of trillions. Better that we should have taken care of ourselves first and cleaned house, not bailed out Wall Street financiers -- let them pay for their sins and feel the pain.

Unfortunately, while you were distracted by the election, Wall Street gained control of our Treasury using a Trojan Horse, Hank Paulson, who filled Treasury with Goldman Sachs alums and pulled off one of the greatest inside heists in the history of the world.

While you were distracted, Wall Street privatized the U.S. Treasury, got the keys to Fort Knox and will be stealing trillions for years to come, through a secret "sleeper cell," a "virus" installed in the $700 billion Wall Street bailout. They're laughing: All you got was a heavily discounted paper IOU for you, your kids and generations to pay off. The winners: Paulson, Goldman, Wall Street banks and Reaganomics. The losers: America. .......(more)

1. Unfortunately, as stated deep in the article, it will be used against Obama
This has been a brilliant strategic weapon for the neocons and just-plain cons. They'll be able to hamstring Obama at every turn, manipulate the economy further, tank it all, and be ready with their GOP media machine to tell us all why it's that young inexperienced black man's fault.

It's too bad so many think Obama stands a chance. Dude's being set up, big time. Let's hope he has the cajones to sign a few executive orders throwing these bums out onto the street where they belong.

5. Goolsbee was not the right choice for a campaign economics adviser.
He's a Friedmanite.

I have significant fear about the economy going forward.

3. Obama's single greatest challenge will be standing up to the banks . . .
and mega-corporations that essentially control the economy . . . whether he has the will or the ability to do so remains to be seen . . . but no real change will occur anywhere if he doesn't/won't/can't rein in the corporations . . .

4. I call it the "Financial 9/11." The original 9/11 set up a fleecing of all our existing
capital as a nation, by war and police state profiteers. This second 9/11--the financial one--sets up the fleecing of all our FUTURE capital as a nation, unto the 7th generation.

And just as with the attack on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon, our Democratic leaders fell right into line with this fleecing, too.

Our "capital" as a nation includes many things--our wages, our pensions, our benefits, our public school through university education systems, our other infrastructure (hospitals, roads, bridges, dams, energy plants, water systems, parks, airports), our good name in the world, our legal system, our labor resource (still the most productive work force on earth), our natural resources, our taxes, our National Guard, our emergency services, our military and all of its assets, etc.

Virtually all of it has been seriously damaged or destroyed by the Bush Junta's extremely corrupt "war on terra," war on Iraq, war on Afghanistan and war on the poor and middle class, here and abroad.

Now the fuckwads who did this are going after our FUTURE. All future government revenues. All future government assistance to the poor and middle class. All future government promotion of a good society. I don't know who they expect to PAY for this humongous future debt. It is as insane as everything else the Bushwhacks (and collusive Democrats) have done. But it seems a set up for Germany 1932, writ large.

Just remember this: The non-transparent vote counting systems, fast-tracked all over the country during the 2002 to 2004 period with a $3.9 billion electronic voting boondoggle from the Anthrax Congress, run on 'TRADE SECRET,' PROPRIETARY programming code, owned and controlled by Bushwhack corporations, and enthusiastically supported by most of the Democratic Party leadership, ARE STILL IN PLACE. No need for "brownshirts" stuffing ballot boxes and beating up voters. They have Diebold and ES&S to magically produce whatever kind of regime they need to enslave us, and many other populations, for the rest of the century, if Planet Earth holds out that long.

The back of the great progressive American majority--one of the few forces in the world capable of curtailing global corporate predators--has been broken, just as it was beginning to reassert itself. By 9/11, part 2.

6. This bailout sounds a lot worse than I initially thought.
I didn't realize there was a three-year contract to provide these funds; at the end of the article, it states there will be an even worse market meltdown three years from now, in 2011. It all sounds pretty scary.
