I am honestly amazed at how Repubs, even when they honestly try, just don't get it.

I am honestly amazed at how Repubs, even when they honestly try, just don't get it.
Over their hand wringing we hear such jewels as "we need to be more inclusive." Or the ever popular "we need to be the big tent party." And the all time best "we need to do a better job at attracting (insert minority group moniker here)."

And all we *ever* see from them is calculated pretensions at being whatever it is they think the (insert minority group moniker here) want to hear.

They have no intention of changing their policies. I don't think I will live long enough to see them opt for inclusion rather than division and exclusion.

All the palaver from the up and coming governors about new initiatives aimed at broadening their base is just so much bullshit. (Shame on YOU, Bobby Jindahl. YOU should know better.)

I think they really do want to change, if for no better reason than to get back some winning mojo. But they really, truly can't find one clue among the whole bunch of them.

They REALLY don't get it.

1. Well you know what Darwin said about things that don't adapt..

...they die out. Let's hope this is the case with their ideology.

2. In order to actually change, they'd have to at least tacitly admit

that Reaganism doesn't work in the 21st century. That's like a fundie admitting that the Bible is a collection of ancient Jewish folktales. Na ga Happen. They'd also have to abandon the anti-immigration wing of the party, otherwise known as the racist "base." There goes their coalition. So a hard road for the Republicans the next generation or so, until we're sufficiently affluent and at peace for people to forget, again, that politics has real consequences.

3. They talk the talk but don't walk the walk.

I can't decide if it's because they aren't aware of their hypocrisy or if they don't care. Either way, they are morally bankrupt.

4. They think it's a game
They keep trying to game the system anew. The sociopaths in the party (now the majority) would never dream of just doing the right thing ... most of them don't even know what that is.
