If we want American business to be competitive we must get |
|
Health Care out of their realm. Why should the US be the ONLY country in the world that relies on business to provide Health Care Insurance to Americans? It is a HUGE expense and makes American business highly unlikely to be able to compete world wide. To continue the same failed Health Care policy just does not get it for business. If American business did not have to foot the bill for Joe Blow's Health Care they could lower costs and raise pay to employees not to even mention the fact they could increase their profitability and hire more people. There is no valid reason for American Business to have to foot that bill. If there were a valid reason we would not be the only country that does it this way..We need to get a lot smarter if we want to succeed in this Global Economy.

1. It seems that a lot of people fear "socialism" more than they fear economic collapse. |

2. people can't afford health care any other way than business |

you take away employer sponsored coverage, and 95% of american working families simply won't make enough money to provide their own private plans. and good luck even if you do have the money to find coverage for pre-existing conditions on your own. If you think these companies will hire more workers because they don't have health care expenditures you are a fool. Thats the same argument that supply-side economics used and its been proven NOT TO WORK. Corporations look out for one thing first and foremost: themselves. If there is no demand for their goods or services (and there won't be for years to come globally save a few niche industries) then why would they hire more workers? It just doesn't add up, sorry to say, I couldn't disagree with you more

If business eliminates one it's largest expenses there will be no reason not to pay their employees more and those employees will then have more to spend thus creating more demand. It is called "Demand Side Economics" which is quite the opposite of what you suggest, which is "Supply Side Economics" and we have seen the results of that over the last eight years.. Your argument is the same disproved argument the Right has been feeding us for decades.. It just does not work. National Health Care does work as virtually every single country in the Industrialized World has demonstrated time and time again. Why the USA is rated 35th in Health Care throughout the world..People make more money so more tax revenue is created to pay for the Health Care Industry which if controlled by One Single Payer would cut the cost probably in half from what currently is spent.

5. How about we offer all Americans the same plan that federal employees have? Could we at least get |
|
that, if nothing else? No pre-existing conditions in that plan.

insurers and HMOs out of our health care until we starve them out somehow. One of the reasons some of our manufacturers have moved their factories to Canada is because of the savings in health care. Here in the USA though people, who have health insurance from their employers, don't want to take a chance on NHC because the industry had been very clever over the years to plant the seeds of distrust and too many years of Republican power have reduced the government health plans that we do have to a very sick patient itself as well. Somehow we have to get the word out to people that they too may lose their jobs to another country because of the health care costs. We need to convince them that NHC is needed to give the industries and businesses the break they need from the costs of providing health care to their employees.
