It is intellectually dishonest for RWers to blame the stock slide on Obama

From Sept 4 to Sept 25, McCain was even or ahead in most tracking polls.

The stock market dropped from 11600 to under 9000 during that time.... when conventional wisdom had McCain at least a 50-50 shot of winning.

Since that time, stocks have dropped another 700 or so points.

Facts:

1. 2/3 of the stock market drop occurred during a time when the race was neck and neck and conventional wisdom had McCain with a 50-50 shot of winning

2. Obama does not take the oath of office for another two months.

3. Blaming Obama for the market drop in the fall of 2008 is the equivalent of blaming the election of George Bush for the market collapse in the fall of 2000 (when the internet bubble collapsed).

A President can only be held responsible for his actual time in office. Hannity calling the current recession the "Obama recession" defies all logic and has no validity. A recession is a decline in the GDP over two quarters. Obama has had no more power to control the GDP growth (or lack thereof) than any of the other 99 Senators during that time.

Any freeper calling the market diving from 11500 to 8300 over the past two months the "Obama crash" is a bigger disingenuous asshole than anyone on the planet.

George W. Bush is still president. His Treasury Secretary, Hank Paulson, is still in charge of the purse strings. This is George W. Bush's economy.... and NOBODY ELSE'S for at least the next several months.

Otherwise..... the recession in 2001 and 2002 has NOTHING to do with Clinton.

and..... the recession of 1981 and 1982 has NOTHING to do with Carter.

Demand consistency of the freeptards. Don't allow them to progress with the narrative that this is the "Obama Recession".

3. Obama has NOTHING to do with this recession.
I defy any RWer to attempt to debate that one with me. Hell, even the ones that surround me at work aren't singing that tune. And these guys (and girls) are serious RW kool-aid drinkers.

7. They don't have intellects to be dishonest with.
They are just self-defensive psychotics who blurt out the first excuse they can think of to take blame away from themselves, in an effort to avoid having to look at their own failures. They are the type who scream "I know you are but what am I?" when you tell them they are wrong. They are the type who write nasty reviews of professors at universities because they failed a course, calling the professor biased or elitist.

They are not emotionally honest enough to be intellectually honest on anything.

8. True believers are impervious to rational argument.
You can't blame anything on anybody who believes that they have all the ultimate answers to everything. It's like trying to tell a fundamentalist about evolution, or a hard core skeptic about reincarnation, or a new-ager that "higher vibrations" is meaningless double talk, or a flying saucer cultist that the face on Mars is a random rock formation, or trying to convince a freeper that socialized medicine might be a good thing.

When a person's opinions and beliefs are that hardened, reasoning with them, or even attempting to reason with them, is a monumental waste of time and energy that can only lead to frustration, and any and all evidence, regardless of how compelling, will simply be ignored as somehow irrelevant.

10. I guess I thought the term RWer implied dishonesty.
Yes it's dishonest. They know the reason is cyclical at best and the result of Bush letting the inmates run the asylum and his reckless borrowing at worse.

11. Today's economic disaster is due to yesterday's efforts to insure King George would be re-elected.
The FED and the government acted swiftly in 2002 to insure that there would be no recession as bush ran for a second term. The actions of the FED included lowering the interest rate to unnaturally low levels. The whole housing bubble, the expansion of the military and homeland security industrial complex and the bottomless money pits in Iraq/Afghanistan were enacted so that King George could be "re-elected."

The people always pay for the vanity of their king.

17. You got me
Hannity is just a political hack who can spin just about anything. I can't believe they are making such a huge deal of raising a 36% tax to a 39% tax. (I believe that's right.)

21. The EXPERTS know what's happening
And they're all saying that this started a LONG time ago. In fact, it was predicted that something like this would happen a long time ago. And they warned the government.

And Bush just sat on his ass and watched it happen.
