Does "Sarah Palin" as a "brand name" matter if you are in danger of losing your job? |
|
Edited on Wed Nov-12-08 08:49 PM by KoKo01
These are very serious times in America for all of us who are trying to support ourselves and our families. Yet the Cables persist in all sorts of Sarah Palin interviews and goo bah's about her life and how she felt about her Veep Run with McCain. Even the Internet Sites like Huff Po and Politico and everything inbetween is obsessed about Sarah. Her clothes, shoes and her kitchen where she serves up "Moose Stew" and other Alaskan delights to willing sycophantic reporters and pundits.
Meanwhile our "Bail Out" is fizzling when our Treasury Secretary comes out and changes what he's saying once again! He's begining to sound like "Flip/Flop McCain" in that he can't seem to get his "Bail Out Plan" which he ran to Nancy Peloci and Barney Frank screaming with his "Hair on Fire" that America was going into RUIN if CONGRESS DOESN'T PASS THIS ASAP!
To give the House and Nancy some credit...it took TWO VOTES to get it passed through our House...but Chris Dodd and others in the Senate pre-empted the Second Vote to get this TRASH of PAULSON passed and ramed it through by making the House think Obama might go down if they didn't pass it on the "SECOND TRY."
It seems all to have been a last minute "Terra Attack" by Bush and his Crime Family to push trough the last dismantling of the "New Deal" to trash Obama and the Dems and tie them up in ropes so they couldn't pull this failing BFEE Economy out of the Dumpster before they leave feeling good about how they sucked up to Grover Norquist and his "Drown America in Bath Tub philosophy."
Anyway....Sarah Palin get's ALL THE DU TIME...while what's REALLY GOING ON...must be being reported on Free Republic these days...because "REAL NEWS" doesn't get much "click time or eyeball time" here on DU these days. :-(

1. Yes, it matters. The party in the White House matters. The fundraising matters. |
|
And people posting on DU aren't effecting change in the real world by doing so.

8. She's a national figure in the Republican party and a likely contender for the 2012 |
|
GOP nomination. What she says is worth noting. How the public responds is worth noting.
And then - after all that - DUers feel like it. That alone is enough, though the other reasons are of greater import.

9. Why should we care about who the Repugs are fixating on after imploding, though? |
|
Why should we waste our time with posts on her here like the REPUG Media Whores are doing all over the Neworks and Cables?
We just had a huge VICTORY...yet we give all this airtime to a loser? WHY?

10. I care. But it doesn't matter what gets talked about in General Discussion on DU. |
|
It's not changing anything whether we talk about Palin or about the economy.

11. I disagree...I think what's talked about on the DLC to Progressive Dem NetRoots Does Matter! |
|
We built this damn thing from Al Gore to Howard Dean, through Kerry to Obama. Don't tell me what we do here and elsewhere doesn't matter...because we know it does... Yet, you seem to think not ...yet don't explain.

14. If you are a politician having your name broadcast over the airwaves 24/7 is only a good thing. |
|
I don't know why they are doing it with her, probably to prop her up as a candidate. They are definitely feeding her ego. Usually politicians only see this kind of coverage when a scandal is involved.
