Romney pours big dollars into Coleman's recount team
According to Rachel Maddow this evening, the ultra-wealthy Mitt Romney is financing hundreds of lawyers to go to every recount locality in Minnesota. He is, of course, currying favor for his 2012 Presidential run. Please DUers, even though we've all just finished contributing to the Presidential and other campaigns, the outcome of this race could really affect what soon President Obama will be able to aim for.

Also, Franken has spoken for years on his radio show in support of protecting Social Security as it is, in part because his wife's family, when she was a child, was saved by SS payments after her father died. Most Republicans and some more conservative Dems are in favor of "reforming" it, which translates into a # of unpalatable alternatives. Without strong supporters like Franken, Baby Boomers who have a lifetime of paying into the program, could lose out by such changes as removing the requirement for COLA increases, raising the elegible age, means testing, or increased taxation of benefits. The means test alternative is particularly insidious as it would lead to public hostility toward the program and its eventual replacement by retirement savings tax incentives under the next Republican majority.

So please, folks, dig deep. https://secure.alfranken.com/page/contribute

3. Gee, the last time Mitt opened up his wallet
How did that work out again? Self-financing his campaign?

Heh, heh, heh.
