The GOP seems to think we should forget the past and move on.
What say you?

If we are to totally "Forget the past and move on" does that mass forgetting go all the way back to what the founders intended?

During the campaign the GOP/Palin/McCain preached not reliving or dwelling on the past...do they mean, just forget the past 8 years or that we should the past 250 years? Do they think we should forget what everyone in prison has ever done and let them all go free too, or do the republicans think that America should hold people who commit crimes accountable?

1. They mean:
forget about all the under-handed crap that they pulled, forget about how they shredded the constitution, forget about how they continually changed the playing field to give themselves the advantage, forget about threatening to use the 'nuclear' option against filibusters, forget how they declared anyone who wasn't with them was against them...

Oh, but don't forget 911. :eyes:

3. The Neocons are already organizing for their next assault in 2012..
Nuclear Missile war heads 'accidentally' disappeared from South Dakota and were found en-route to the middle east.... ooops. But, thanks to Pelosi and Reid... all options are off the table. DEMS never learn.

6. No, the Neo-cons are already organizing
their next assault in 2009. The media will start a 24/7 attack on Obama and anything he proposes as a solution. Neo-cons hate this country.

the new guy. Seems like this fox might outfox them. So far he's been ahead of their bullshit and bombast.

8. Hope you are right.
Let's get this media thing correct then we have a fighting chance. Obama certainly is a mental gymnast compared to some past Democrats, but he will need that and more.

North Dakota! We still exist. There are still people here. The Capital Of NORTH Dakota is Bismarck, not Pierre.

the unwashed, brainwashed, backwash.

I remember how Sarah ponunced on Joe Biden during the VP debate about his looking back on the past 8 years. I wonder if she's smart enough to wonder ... HOW IN THE HELL, DID WE GET IN A FREAKIN" MESS LIKE THIS?

13. Denial...A River Running Deep Through GOOPland
First...how can we "move along" while there's still 2 plus months left of an extremely dangerous regime trying to steal its way out of town?

How do we move along when we mired in the worst economic mess since Herbert Hoover, two wars that are sucking up blood and treasure that only add to that mess, a healthcare system where millions have no coverage or preventative care, an educational system bogged down in politics and massively underfunded...I can go on, but why get more depressed?

How do we move along when we see the GOOP already attempting to obstruct and deny the results of the election...not blaming themselves and their corrupt party and failed "ideology", but saying this country wasn't "conservative" enough?

We aren't moving along...we're stepping on them...it's time for them to lead, follow or get out of the way.

May they continue to live in their dellusional world and alienated more and more voters.

Cheers...

16. You'd think that during all of their studying and preaching the "Gospel"
to us all they'd have read and retained this one tiny but important little nugget,(no pun intended)

"Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets" (Matthew 7:12).

"And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise." (Luke 6:31)

"Do unto others, as soon as they turn their backs." (GOP 101)

22. Power Corrupts...
What we're seeing is the first stages of power withdrawl...these goons still can't believe they've been rejected and that soon not only will their worst fears but they soon will no longer have any power to do much more than make noise. It still hasn't really sunk in that their friends on K Street won't be calling as much or they'll be viewed as nothing more than gadflies who overstayed their welcome. The message is gonna take a while to sink in...especially to a party so used to power and money.

Eventually they're gonna get tired of getting their brains (or brainsteams) beat in...the money won't be there and they'll finally face how out of step they are with a majority of this country and the world. But I don't see it happening soon.

Sit back my friend, enjoy the show...the GOOP will be putting on quite a dog and pony show for us the next couple years.

Cheers...

24. Let Them Eat Roadkill...
We won't be buying many cakes it looks like, because the economic misery and our loss of respect around the planet, will trickle down on the generations to come, thanks to the neoCons and their think tank/baptismal tank know it all cronies and snake oil merchants. If some of the think tankers had ever spent any quality time in a real tank instead of dodging their duty, we might be better off today.

I hope America can afford the price of admission to the upcoming political dog and pony circus maximus.

The only explanation I can come up with for a guy like George W Bush or a beauty Queen like Sarah Palin ever getting a chance to ruin the country, is election theft and the fact that the GOPer voters must have believed what that old bumper sticker I used to have that said..."Beer Makes You Smart, It Made Budweiser!"

26. It's The Dumbing Down Of America...
Not that we have that far to go. If there's one under reported result of the election is how this was really a contest of intelligence vs. emotions...those with education and awareness vs. those in a bubble of ideological pablum and brainwashing. It's the "fruits" of a generation of right wing demeaning of education and free will...since the more educated people are the more they think for themselve and see through the dogma and hypocrisy that is rife within its ranks.

We've grown in an ego-centric culture where we view everything as to "what does it mean to me" and the GOOP has long fed the selfish side. They've created a certain world...all questions are answered and when things go bad it's cause people either sabotaged those answers or didn't answer them "just right".

For many year the GOOP thrived as many got tired of the rhetoric and just shut it out. Many of us tuned off of hate radio and tried to marginalize them while they got brasher and brasher...shutting out many more...especially the moderates. Eventually the right wing caricatures become "conventional wisdom" and this country went into dumb mode in 2000. Fortunately those days are over, but the other side still can't square it. May it take them a good long time to see how badly they overplayed.

Cheers...

17. And NOW...
RushBo is blaming the crash of the economy on Obama...forget about all the tax cuts for the rich during a war that wasn't needed either. Forget about Enron getting off with a little slap on the wrist. Forget the cronies in high places that shouldn't be allowed to run a cash register at the freakin' dollar store. FORGET ALL THAT...it's now Obama's fault. Rush must have gotten his housekeeper back from the rest of the GOPers.

we only have one President at a time and right now, it's the poo flinging chimp. If the unwashed, brainwashed, backwash believe rushbo that Obama is to blame for the economic meltdown, then they really don't think for themselves. :argh:

23. "run the bastards so far into the ground that they won't get up."
We let them slide after Watergate and Iran Contra and the S&L bail-out and they all came back to ruin the country. America can't afford to move on and let these greedy, power crazy, bastards, regroup and ruin us again. People need to be held accountable for their criminal deeds...even the wealthy. The "Rule of Law" needs to apply to EVERY American Everywhere! Anything less is total bullshit.

"Equality" is what the first GOP president had in mind, but when Mr. Lincoln died that idea of any real "Equality" vanished for all intents and purposes thanks to the GOP misleaders and the wealthy became more "Equal" than the rest of us. They started making up their own REALITY the day Lincoln was shot and their own reality making has gotten us to where we are, as of today. America has given the GOP chance after chance and every time their greed has overruled their patriotism.

Have we forgiven the Manson family? No, that would be f**king stupid!

19. They obviously don't want to admit to the damage they've done.
They want to put the whole thing a Bush as if they as a party had no part in it.

They're in complete denial over the roll conservative philosophy played in bankrupting the country.

Their wild accusations against Democrats calling them "socialists" and "communists" is but another display of their dishonesty, paranoia, hatefulness and outright insanity.

Their white power/Palin rallies revealed their racial bigotry and un-American nature as true haters of the constitution and the American dream of equality for all.

They embraced racism with a wink and a nod as a way of expanding their base and now find America's changing demographics are about to bury them.

Their cynical alliance with white pseudo-Christian religious zealots has become an anchor around their necks tying them to extreme policies.

And all of this is the result of the core problem they have. At heart they as a party and as human beings are dishonest, greedy, cynical and corrupt.

28. America has reached Critical Mess this time.
The GOPers have arrogantly laid all their overplayed wild cards out on the table over the past eight years thinking that Karl was right about having set up a thousand year GOPer Reich. They figured just as wrong about their having all the elections to come in the bag, as they have figured wrong about their pushover "six week war" in Iraq.

Meltdown time is here and the "reality" makers in the GOP have nothing left but a pile of toxic spent political fuel,(stale bullshit)with which to fight off the tangible realities that today threaten to consume them. Sympathy is in the dictionary between shit and syphilis...that's reality on my block.

We see today how the Deregulators, the SEC's and the GOP misleadership's letting Wall Street "Create Their Own Reality" has worked out, in spades! I think Joe the plumber needs to pump out some of those overfull think tanks, that seem to all be reaching critical mess!
