Looks like we're about to have a four-year campaign for 2012 |
|
I've been watching the media since election day and all they can do is talk about Sarah Palin and she's all over the place. Looks like the 2012 election campaign is going to be four years long.
Four long years of daily Sarah Palin coverage.
Somebody shoot me.
Now.

1. I figured a four year campaign was a given |
|
Actually it could be an opportunity for some quality entertainment.

2. Haley Barbour is right -- "Republicans don't need to talk about 2012", their |
|
problems go beyond that.
As usual, Sarah Palin ignore all this.........because, you see, it is all about SARAH.
That is why she is going to go away (hopefully sooner rather than later)

3. Then by 2010, we'll be seeing campaigns for 2016 |
|
Then in 2012, we'll see campaigns for 2024. Then in 2011, we'll see campaigns for 2016. Then in 2013, we'll see campaigns for 2012. Then in 2008, we'll see campaigns for 2004. Then in 1990, we'll see campaigns for 2028. It'll all make sense when we get there.

4. Do you remember the cable news coverage the day after the 2006 election? |
|
It was entirely about the 2008 race, which they covered continuously from that day until last week! Now they have started on 2012 (I guess the 2010 election doesn't count). Why doesn't MSNBC just rechristen itself the "Election Channel"?
Having said all that, I was thinking yesterday as I watched yet more PalinPalinPalin and lots of 2012 punditry, "Well, what else are they going to cover that is remotely as interesting to their viewers, including me? A house fire in Hoboken? Our trade policy with China? More missing white women? Shark attacks?" Yawn.
Maybe this is the best thing after all. Except for PalinPalinPalin, I am actually finding the discussions fairly interesting.

8. I have noticed that too. |

I think our next conquest or front should be the media, they need to stop campaigning for Palin for the next four years. The media should not be left off the hook either, they have showed their true colors to us.
The Governors' Conference is today and of course it will be focused on the failin palin.

9. No, they have 68 days until something else happens.. they have nothing |
|
to grab onto.. they're just trying to ride the election coat tail ratings... They'll have to return to news at some point.. and in January, it will be a month long inauguration bonanza.. They just forgot how to do news.

None of those losers could win this year, what makes them stars four years from now?

13. For God's Sake...why do you poison your mind with that garbage? |
|
Cut off your Cable TV...or at the very least remove the blabbering Cable TV "News" channels from your remote memory (yes, even M$NBC and their nightly prison-thon of nonsense and referred pain after KO and Maddow).
You will be amazed at how infrequently you will care to type in the number to actively go in to "look" at that crap once it's deleted from your up/down channel surfing mode.
Try it. It works.
Read a newspaper, read DU. But Cable TV Infoganda actually softens people's brains, encourages sloppy thinking, and disinforms or misinforms more than 50% of the time, IMHO.
Egad, it's like you've got a daily habit of gargling old battery acid. Just cut it out. Try gargling with real mouthwash and see how things improve, mteaphorically-speaking.

17. lol... Good advice, tom_paine. I've actually already pretty much |

abandoned CNN. If M$NBC keeps this Pa(l)in crap up, it will be easy to drop them too - except KO and Rachel.

15. We Live In A Constant Campaign...It's Big Money |
|
Look whose doing all the chattering these days...PAID political pundits. These are people who are either in a cushy gig where they can lie or deny or spin and never be held accountable for it or are trying to land a new gig and showing their "creds" by spewing talking points and trying to make those points with a possible new boss or base. Other than Sarah Barracuda, I haven't seen/heard from any other of last week's losers...for many their game is over.
The Democrats couldn't wait for the 2008 election to get rolling. But that's the nature of our political system. It's become its own industry with hundreds of "consultants" and pollsters and pundits who live off this perpetual cycle of spin, fundraising and campaigning. In many ways the 2012 election is well underway as the grab for the money has already started.
Cheers...

Margaret Carlson was on Countdown, and basically said that the GOP governors can't stand her and wish she'd go away.
