Palin talks...so, why is this "Breaking News"?
It used to be that "Breaking News" would be an earthquake, a bridge collapse or a government's violent overthrow. Now, if "W" gets the sniffles it's "Breaking News." "Breaking diversion," maybe, but nothing that's going to alter my route home from work, or otherwise shake the world.

Also...especially in the smaller markets, have you ever noticed how "news" conveniently "breaks" just in time for the local news shows...at, say, 5 or 6 pm? It's certainly courteous of news to wait until the anchors are already in their chairs and ready to go...rather than, say, 3 am on Sunday...isn't it?

2. Still waiting for that Weather Channel interview...
Keith said to expect it soon. Palin will then be doing a guest appearance on Ghost Hunters...looking for the lost spirit of the once-proud Republican Party.

8. Is that what the fixation is all about?
Is it like watching one of those live, high-speed car chases on an expressway? If that's what we have here, I'm ready to see her stopped by those spike-things, and then wrestled to the ground.

12. Well given the pitch of her voice
they should use shattering news since she destroys eardrums, glass, peace of mind and makes dogs and cats scatter.

13. Breaking News means "breaking" but not "news"
Therefore, anything that breaks their standard 15 minutes of news repeated word for word, it's BREAKING NEWS, because it's breaking into the normal spiel.

Yes, it's stupid, but that's what it is.
