8. What contributed most to McCain/Palin's defeat was the fact
that they had to run as republicans. The American people have finally woken up to the fact that republicans lie, cheat, and steal, and not much else.

9. McCain. He decided how his campaign would be run,
he selected Palin, and he ran the filthy lying campaign that killed his reputation. Many people had at least some respect for him before the campaign, not so many do now.
Of course he would not accept responsibility for it.
