2. I fear the worst for that poor girl...
Sorry my LBN post was just a wild goose chase. I hope they find little Caylee, though, and make her mother answer for her disappearance.

4. Suicide bomber hits US convoy in Afghanistan
A suicide bomber targeted a US military convoy in eastern Afghanistan today as it passed through a crowded market, killing at least seven civilians and a US soldier.

The attack came as Britain's Ministry of Defence confirmed that two soldiers killed yesterday in the southern province of Helmand were Royal Marines.

A truck bomb also exploded yesterday outside the office of the provincial council in the southern city of Kandahar, killing six people and wounded 42. Separately in Kandahar, suspected militants sprayed acid into the faces of a group of schoolgirls. The Taliban are opposed to girls' education.

Today's attack on the US convoy took place on the outskirts of the eastern city of Jalalabad. The car bomb exploded at 7.45am (0245 GMT), as children were on their way to school. Early reports put the death toll as high as 21, but the Afghan interior ministry said that had only been able to verify seven civilian deaths. It was market day, so the streets were packed as the convoy passed.

"It appears that a vehicle packed with explosives, driven by a suicide attacker, denoted against a convoy in a crowded market place on the main road east out of Kabul," said a spokesman for US military forces in Afghanistan, Colonel Gregory Julian.

12. I take your point, and agree with it...
the fact that a firefight within the members of a joint Iraqi/American patrol, sparked by some disagreement, possibly over religious beliefs, should merit some serious discussion on wtf is going on over there...as should all deaths, and our very presence there, for that matter.

5. And stupid parents don't know kids stumble

That cliff video is just up the highway from me I think. In any event, just about every viewpoint on the coast is exactly like that, and nobody should be surprised that you should watch little kids near cliffs.

Now that the election is over, I guess we're back to the tragedies of white girls of all shapes and sizes.

:argh:
