Very treatable though. I researched it all on the net and we got him fixed fairly quickly.

13. I had it, unfortunately, it was a precursor to my second brain tumor

and my doctor missed it. 9 months later, my tumor hemorrhaged, nearly killing me. This was last November. If he had recommended an MRI when he diagnosed it, I'd be in much better shape physically, and have the sight in my right eye too.

This happened to my brother and we thought he might be having a stroke. He was a real trooper during it all, but the rest of us were very worried. Luckily the healing rate is pretty good and he came back after a few weeks or so. Sorry for your ordeal, though. My goodness.

'normal', but my left side of my face still has a droop, the eyelid doesn't open as wide, and I wish that would have been the only effect.

As it first happened, he had to manually make his eye blink with his finger, because the muscle action was being blocked by the swollen nerve in his neck. The tiny hole in the bone. Every few days it got better, but was worrisome in the meantime.

28. I'm so sorry. We've been seeing a lot of posters lately on DU with health care horror stories.

It's sickening how they are continually stingier with the MRI's. Can I ask what kind it was? My uncle had a very rare malignant meningioma.

Cameron, Mo. which is a couple hours from here is having an epidemic of brain tumors and the jury is still out as to why. It may be linked to the former site of an insulation plant. Erin Brokovich has now gotten involved.

:rofl: and in the end, I stopped trying to pronounce the name because it has been a daily fight for normalcy.
What saved my small insignificant life was I took a fall down some steps last August, my vision wouldn't stop blurring, so the optomologist ordered an MRI in late October to see if I had a problem with my right eye, and poof, tumor time again. It was four days between the discovery of the tumor and surgery because the mri showed hemorrhaging.

So I read with a magnifying glass, drive during the day, and use a 22" computer screen which I sit 12 inches in front of. I still enjoy my Oreos though!

LOL. A friend of mine had a nerve tumor on the skull bone above her eye a few years back. We were talking the other day and none of us could remember the name for it. They all have a zillion syllables.

Hey, sounds like we're buds. Sight in my right eye goes in and out (from MS)and my friends make fun of me for wearing jeweler glasses when I'm painting or if I just plain need to see. It does look like I'm welding. I'm saving up for that 22' screen too. I've maxed the font out on this screen.
