14. And it only lasts 2 whole months of every year.
That's 1/6 of our entire lives having christmas music imposed on our ears.

Now pack up and go somewhere you'd be happy. North Korea suggests itself.

8. I'd say they're recycling the same crap year after year
:eyes:

I remember a LOT of "Season's Greetings" and "Happy Holidays" on banners and Xmas cards in all through the 1970's.

They're full of it.

11. I was, of course, referring to their message
;)

I find it quite shocking that people still don't recycle. Our city has had a curb side pickup and recycling bins for apartments since the late 80's.

9. Anyone else notice that the war on Christmas baloney starts earlier every year?
Edited on Fri Nov-14-08 12:42 AM by kenny blankenship
They used to wait til almost Thanksgiving. Nowadays you haven't even thrown out your leftover Halloween candy yet, and it's War on Christmas already, 24x7 on all channels.

The hard-sell overcommercialization of the War On Christmas has drained THE LAST DROP of holiday cheer from my veins. Fuck it. This year, instead of having the usual War On Christmas bonanza I think my family is just going to go on a vacation in the Caribbean.

13. The only time that anyone pursued a serious war on Christmas in England...
it was Cromwell's Puritans, who banned Christmas celebrations as they were based too much on old Pagan celebrations.

They were religious Protestant right-wingers, who would have had quite a lot in common with Focus on the Family.

18. It's A Lonely Xmas In Dobsonland...
He lost his pet Congresscritter, Marilyn Musgrove (has she conceded yet???) and his unlimited pass to the White House is about to be recinded. His "influence" wasn't enough to win an election and even among fundies, he's no longer the big dog. Add to this money becoming tight...this dude needs a scam to bring in the cash and attempt to become relevant once again.

This year, Christmas declared war on us. Many of us have far less cash to throw around thanks to the greed and selfishness of this regime and their "deregulators". The good news is that fewer people will have to be concerned with saying "Merry Xmas" because they won't be out shopping this year...just trying to keep warm and survive.

You know that the fundies now will start screaming about how immoral things have become in this country. The perscution complex will be one of the few rallying points for their disintegrating and totally clueless party.

20. Who knew that Baby Jesus would grow up to be a long-haired, bearded love freak?
Parents, warn your children now about this Looming Holiday -- and TOSS any and all catalogs and psuedo-religious publications featuring people with long hair and beards.
